In the face of Zhang Fei's questioning, Yan Yan kept her face straight and righteously said that in our state, there were only generals who beheaded, but no generals who bent their knees. I would rather die than surrender. When Zhang Fei saw Yan Yan's backbone, loyalty and respect, he treated him with courtesy. Zhang Fei persuaded Yan Yan, released Yan Yan and introduced him as a guest. Zhang Fei and Yan Yan hit it off. With Yan Yan's help, Zhang Fei captured ten levels and captured the county of Brazil (now Langzhong, Sichuan).
