Natural conditions of Binju town

The whole place of residence is shaped like a Zhang Haitang leaf. It is high in the west and low in the south, with three mountains: white elephant, big tip and water, which meander eastward to form a flat dam. The highest elevation is 3002.2m (at the top of Douding Mountain), the lowest elevation is 1500m (east of Huotou Jixi Bridge), the average elevation is 1540m, and the relative elevation difference is 1502.2m, which is quite different vertically. Rivers in the town are the upstream source of Sangyuan River, and the main rivers are Binju River and Xijiao River. Binju River flows through five village committees, namely Picun, Longkou, Yangguan, Shima and Longquan, and flows into Sangyuan River, heading straight for Jinsha River. There are two Longtan, Heishu Longtan and Dawangmiao, which have large water output, as well as Shuangdun Hot Springs and Binju Dilong Group. The territory is dotted with lakes and ponds, ditches and rivers. There are five reservoirs, four of which have a storage capacity of more than 654.38 million cubic meters. Artificial canals include Binhai Dagou, Nandagou, Yanshan Gully, Xigou, Dawangmiao Gully and Sifang Dangou.

The whole town belongs to the subtropical monsoon climate zone with low latitude and high thickness. Less rainfall, high temperature, plenty of sunshine and dry air. Its obvious characteristics are "dry" and "hot". It is one of the drier towns in the county, with an average annual rainfall of 650 mm and an average annual temperature of 17℃. Mineral resources include gold, copper, iron, anthracite, limestone, asbestos and diatomite. The existing forests are mainly distributed in the southern and western mountainous areas, and the forest coverage rate of Wulongba village Committee is high.
