Physical geography of Pinghe County

Pinghe County is located in the southwest of Zhangzhou City in the Golden Triangle of southern Fujian Province, adjacent to the two special economic zones of Xiamen and Shantou. The geographical coordinates are 24°02′-24°35′ north latitude and 116°54′-117°31′ east longitude. It has jurisdiction over 10 towns, 5 townships and 1 farm.

In 2012, the county covered an area of ??2,334 square kilometers, ranking first in Zhangzhou City. There are 2.6 million acres of mountainous land, 355,000 acres of cultivated land, and 2.68 million acres of forest land.

Pinghe County is surrounded by mountains and beautiful mountains and clear waters. The county’s forest coverage rate is 69%. In 2011 alone, 194,000 acres were afforestation and greening; the fruit area reached 900,000 acres, with a total output of 900,000 tons, ranking first in Fujian Ranked first in the province and sixth in China. Five of the six main rivers in Zhangzhou have their sources in Pinghe, which has earned Pinghe the reputation of "the source of the five rivers" (Guangdong Hanjiang, Zhangpu Nanxi, Lujiang, Yunxiao Zhangjiang, and Zhao'an Dongxi). Pinghe County is located in the composite part of two giant structural systems, the east-west compound structural belt of the Nanling Mountains and the second compound uplift belt of the Neocathaysian system. After many crustal movements, the structural faults are complex. The more developed structural systems are mainly: meridional structure, Neocathaysian structure and torsional structure.

The meridional structures

formed earlier and were mostly migrated and transformed by new structures in later periods. Exposures in the county are sporadic and can only be found in the northwest - the Luxi north-south transpressional fault zone.

New Cathaysian structures

Mainly include: Donghuai-Guizhuyang northeast-trending compression-torsion fault zone, associated with Jiaohe-Guanfeng northwest-trending tension-torsion fault zone Zone; Jiufeng - Tutian NNE fault zone; Wenfeng - Daxi NNE fault zone (Fault Zones 2 and 3 are both accompanied by tensile-torsional NW faults); Xiaoxi - Banzibei Northeast-trending compound anticline.

The twisting structure

It is mainly found in the broom-shaped structure of Anhou, starting from Beiganling and going southwest through Daxi and Anhou, and then turning southeast to Yunxiao Mapu and Jingshupingping. , spread out in a counterclockwise direction, about 60 kilometers long, 3 to 25 kilometers wide, covering an area of ??600 square kilometers.

The dominant transpressional structural planes in the county still belong to the Neocathaysian system in the north-northeast and northeast directions, and their associated transverse north-northwest faults. The alluvial and alluvial layers of the neotectonic movement are strongly displayed, controlling the distribution trend of the mountains in Pinghe County, the cutting of river valleys, the development of river terraces and water systems, and basically consistent with the outline of the exposed structural system.

The geological structure within the territory is dominated by faults with slight folds. Only in the Jurassic Lishan Formation between Xiaoxi and Xiaofanshan are broad and gentle northeast-trending folds found in other areas. Eye-catching. In short, the geological structure of the county is a grid-like fault structure pattern with northeast-trending faults as the main trunk and multiple groups of faults intertwined together. The main ones are: Zhongteng-Jiufeng northeast fault; Xiaoxi-Daxi northeast fault; Luxi-Nansheng northwest fault; Qiling-Anhou northwest fault; Tangkeng (Nanjing) County) - Ivory north-south fault; Fulishi - Longsandong north-south fault. Pinghe has a long history of agricultural production. According to the "Pinghe County Chronicle" written by Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, rice cultivation in the county was not later than the Song Dynasty, and was divided into early rice, late rice and medium rice. Before the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, winter wheat, tobacco, sugarcane, hemp and other cash crops had been cultivated. During the Republic of China, the area of ??grain and cash crops further expanded. However, due to the long-term constraints of feudal private ownership of land, low productivity, extensive farming, and conservative techniques have resulted in low crop yields, with grain yields per mu being less than 150 kilograms. By 1949, the total grain output was 70,900 tons, and the average yield per mu was only 101 kilograms. The development of animal husbandry, sideline production, and fishery was also slow.

After liberation, Pinghe rural areas underwent land reform and agricultural socialist transformation, realizing public ownership of land and liberating productivity. The government organizes and helps farmers carry out farmland water conservancy construction year by year, promotes science and technology and agricultural machinery, improves production conditions, and continuously improves agricultural production levels.

In particular, the rural economic system was reformed in the 1980s, the household contract responsibility system was established, and the rural industrial structure and the internal structure of agriculture were adjusted to overcome the "one big and two public", egalitarianism, and emphasis on food that had existed since the 1950s. We will alleviate the shortcomings of diversified operations, break the situation of natural economy and traditional agriculture, and begin to transform into a commodity economy and modern agriculture, with all-round development of agriculture, animal husbandry, sideline production, and fishery. In 1988, the county's total grain output was 180,000 tons, with an average yield of 275 kilograms per mu, an increase of 1.57 times and 1.7 times respectively over 1949; total sugar cane output was 154,000 tons, 227,000 pigs were kept, and aquatic product output was 623 tons, respectively. It increased by 17.7 times, 6.1 times and 62 times compared with 1949; the total agricultural output value was 133.8 million yuan (at constant prices in 1980), exceeding 1949 by 7.2 times.

In 2008, Pinghe County’s total agricultural output value was 4.59 billion yuan, an increase of 8%. A breakthrough was made in the creation of brand agriculture. "Pinghe Guanxi Honey Pomelo" was recognized as a well-known trademark in China and rated as a famous brand agricultural product in China. Its certification trademark was successfully registered in 17 countries and became one of my country's 10 geographical indication products protected by the European Union. 1. The export of honey pomelo for the whole year was 83,000 tons, which doubled compared with the previous year.

Baiya Qilan Tea has become one of the five famous teas in the province; Shange Vegetables has applied to the National Trademark Office for trademark registration of "Baofeng" and "Shange Qizhen"; Yangshan Tea, Guonong Two companies were listed as provincial-level leading agricultural companies, and the products of five companies, including Baofeng Canned Food and Tianchu Tea, won the 2007 Fujian Famous Brand Products.

Agricultural industrialization has been solidly promoted. In 2008, 4 new agricultural product processing enterprises were opened, 10 new farmers' professional cooperatives such as vegetables and tea were established, and the province's first county-level agricultural input industry association was established; Honey Pomelo was established There are 46 export demonstration bases covering an area of ??5,300 hectares. The agricultural industry chain continued to extend, and pomelo-flavored Qilan tea was successfully developed. Pinghe industry has always been dominated by individual handicrafts. In 1949, the county's total industrial output value was only 41,600 yuan (at constant prices in 1957, the same below). After the founding of New China, modern industry emerged rapidly. By 1957, modern industry dominated by state-owned industrial enterprises had initially taken shape. The total industrial output value that year was 4.867 million yuan. Beginning in 1958, all private industries and "big iron and steel smelting" were launched, and "small soil groups" were emphasized. All kinds of small factories rushed into operation. Coupled with three consecutive years of natural disasters, the development of industrial production suffered a great setback. Economic benefits dropped significantly. The total industrial output value in 1962 was only 4.77 million yuan, lower than the level in 1957. Since 1963, Pinghe industry has been restored and developed after adjustment. By 1965, the total industrial output value increased by 93% compared with 1957. After the start of the "Cultural Revolution" in 1966, Pinghe Industry suffered another setback. The annual total industrial output value from 1968 to 1970 was lower than the 1965 level. In 1970, the Industrial Study of Daqing was launched, and industrial production gradually recovered. In particular, the county's synthetic ammonia plant, phosphate fertilizer plant and a number of key hydropower projects were established, and the county's industry has developed greatly. The total industrial output value in 1976 reached 22.38 million yuan, more than double that in 1970. Since the 1980s, with the implementation of reform and opening up, Pinghe Industry has seen a new situation in which enterprises of various types of ownership, including national, collective, individual, Sino-foreign joint ventures, etc., develop together. The three industries of sugar production, machinery and chemical fertilizers owned by the whole people have become the three pillars of Pinghe Industry. In 1987, the total industrial output value exceeded 100 million yuan for the first time. By 1988, there were 1,913 industrial enterprises of various types (registered and certified) in the county, with a total industrial output value of 125.4 million yuan (at constant prices in 1980). Its proportion in the total industrial and agricultural output value had increased from 2 in 1949 to % rose to 48.38%.

In 2008, Pinghe County achieved a total industrial output value of 2.74 billion yuan, an increase of 35.5%, of which large-scale industries achieved an output value of 1.898 billion yuan, an increase of 57.3%; industrial tax revenue was 76.84 million yuan, an increase of 49.9%, and the tax revenue increased It is 20.3 percentage points higher than the growth rate of output value, achieving simultaneous high growth in output value and efficiency. There were 23 new large-scale enterprises, bringing the total to 81, and 26 clothing and rain gear companies entered the ranks of large-scale enterprises. The output value of 6 companies including Fuhuan Automobile exceeded 100 million yuan, and the tax revenue of 17 companies including Linhe Liangba and Baoda Steel exceeded 1 million yuan. The industrial development potential is strong, with 120 new and continued projects, with a completed investment of 580 million yuan, including 45 projects with an investment of more than 5 million yuan, with a completed investment of 310 million yuan. The results of industrial investment promotion are outstanding. 65 new industrial foreign investment projects were approved throughout the year, with actual utilization of foreign capital of US$9.08 million, an increase of 18.8%; Yida Paper, which invested hundreds of millions of yuan, was successfully settled. The construction of Fuhuan Automobile Industrial Park and Wenmei Machinery Manufacturing (Auto Parts) Industrial Park has accelerated, driving and attracting 31 auto parts projects to settle there. The construction of industrial carriers has been accelerated. 35,000 square meters of general-purpose factories have been built in the county, 7,000 square meters of idle factories have been revitalized, and 84.6 hectares of industrial land have been acquired and stored. The creation of industrial brands has been fruitful. The two trademarks "Guonong" and "Nansheng" were rated as provincial famous trademarks, and six trademarks including "Wanqilong", "Xingfa" and "Guanghetang" were rated as city famous trademarks. .

There is a water plant with a daily water supply of 2,000 tons in the area, which can meet the daily needs of life and industry. Water demand and industrial electricity are directly supplied by the county power company, and the power is sufficient. There are companies in the area such as Dongpu Umbrella, Hengtai Umbrella, Haichuan Umbrella, Zhuhong Furniture, Hongkai Toys, Lian'an Paper Products, Hongsheng Cascade Hydropower, Summit Alliance Cascade Hydropower, and Leji Food. From the Republic of China to the early 1950s, except for market towns such as Jiufeng, Xiaoxi, Luxi, and Daxi, there were very few inns in other places. The inns in various places are simple and crude, with few beds (a few or more than a dozen) and little turnover. In 1956, two private inns in Xiaoxi Town, Lianhe and Guanghe, formed a cooperative hotel with 35 beds (some of which were temporary). In 1958, the state-owned Pinghe Hotel was established, with the number of beds increased to 65, including single and double rooms, and no meals. In 1964, the state-owned Peace Service Co., Ltd. was added, with a two-story building and 175 beds, including single, double, 3-person and 4-person rooms, a canteen and a canteen. There are more than 10 cooperative hotels in other communes managed by grassroots supply and marketing cooperatives. In 1969, the County Revolutionary Committee added large and small guest houses to serve cadres on business trips and meetings. Since then, many government agencies and communes have successively opened a number of guest houses. Especially since the reform and opening up in the 1980s, there have been many tourists coming and going, and a large number of guesthouses, service agencies, hostels, inns, etc. founded by neighborhood committees, village committees and private individuals have emerged. During the Republic of China and before, the peaceful natural economy dominated and commerce was underdeveloped. There were few shops and most of them were small businesses. Most of the commercial trade consisted of agricultural and sideline products and few industrial products. During the Anti-Japanese War, peace became the home front and business flourished. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the Kuomintang launched a civil war and carried out military "encirclement and suppression" and economic blockade of the old revolutionary base areas. Coupled with inflation, many businesses went out of business and fled, and the market was cold and depressed.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, it actively developed state-owned commerce and supply and marketing cooperative commerce, carried out socialist transformation of private commerce, increased the number of industrial products, and the market became increasingly active. From 1958 to 1961 and during the "Cultural Revolution", due to the influence of "Left" erroneous ideas, collective and private businesses were restricted, and business development was slow. Since the 1980s, the commercial system has been reformed, and state-owned, collective, and private businesses have been liberalized for business operations. The company is listed as a provincial and municipal leading circulation enterprise. Pinghe Tourism Industry started in 1979, first developing and utilizing the Sanping tourist area centered on the thousand-year-old Sanping Temple. In September 1979, the County People's Government established the Sanping Tourism Management Committee; in 1986, it was renamed the Sanping Scenic Area Management Committee. The tourist area has 6 stores operating all year round, 2 restaurants, 1 hotel, and more than 100 seasonal food, fruit, daily necessities and other outlets. There are dedicated buses from Zhangzhou and Pinghe to the Sanping Tourist Area, and there are 4 parking lots covering an area of ??more than 6,500 square meters. The number of tourists over the years was 120,000 in 1979, 90,000 in 1980, 200,000 in 1981, 210,000 in 1982, 185,000 in 1983, 240,000 in 1984, 320,000 in 1985, and 370,000 in 1986. The number of visitors was 420,000 in 1987 and 500,000 in 1988. The first quarter of each year is the peak season, and tourism revenue accounts for half of the annual revenue; especially on the sixth day of the first lunar month, tourists peak. On this day in 1987, there were 25,000 tourists and more than 800 vehicles. Compatriots from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao and overseas Chinese and people come in droves, numbering tens of thousands every year. In 1987, tourism revenue exceeded one million yuan for the first time, reaching 1.07 million yuan. In 1988, revenue reached 1.68 million yuan. Tourism revenue is divided between the county, township and village levels.

In 1987, the Daxi Township People's Government developed and utilized Lingtong tourism resources and established the Lingtong Scenic Area Management Committee, investing 410,000 yuan to build various supporting facilities. 2 scenic roads covering 13.7 kilometers were built, 2,800 meters of tourist sidewalks were laid, 2 mountain climbing ladders were installed, and 3 parking lots covering 2,100 square meters were set up. From 1987 to 1988, there were more than 150,000 tourists, mainly tourists from Zhangpu, Yunxiao, Zhao'an, Dongshan, Chaozhou, and Shantou areas, as well as compatriots from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao, and overseas Chinese. The tourism revenue was more than 40,000 yuan.

Efforts are made to improve the two major tourism brands of Sanping and Lingtong. The planning adjustment of Sanping Scenic Area and the Sanping Patriarch Cultural Park project have passed the demonstration. The facilities of the scenic area have been continuously improved, and it has been rated as a provincial-level civilized scenic tourist area; Lingtong Scenic Area It was successfully declared a provincial geological park, the reconstruction of Qingyun Temple was started, and the design of Lingtong Tianchi was completed. A preliminary agreement was reached on the Taiji Peak Tourism Comprehensive Development Project; a red tour promotion meeting was held, and the "Peace Tourism" brochure was released to create red tourism products and enhance tourism vitality. In 2008, it received 1.09 million tourists and achieved direct tourism income of 103 million yuan, an increase of 7% and 13% respectively.
