Do foreign students need to go through any formalities if they want to go to Hong Kong?

If you are a citizen of one of the more than 170 countries around the world that provides visa-free access to Hong Kong, you can enter Hong Kong visa-free with your passport without any formalities.

If you are a mainland citizen, you must hold a Hong Kong and Macau permit and a valid endorsement before you can enter Hong Kong. A tourist visa can stay for 7 days at a time.

If you are a mainland citizen, it is recommended that you purchase a round-trip ticket from South Korea to Hong Kong. Or make a stopover in Hong Kong when returning to China.

Transiting through Hong Kong is equivalent to transiting through Hong Kong to a third country, eliminating the trouble of applying for documents.

You can fly to Hong Kong from South Korea with a Chinese passport, and then tell the customs when you enter the country that you are returning to China via Hong Kong, and you can stay in Hong Kong for 7 days without a visa. But remember to go to Shenzhen or other cities in China within 7 days, and then return to Hong Kong on the same day or after a few days. If you fly to South Korea from Hong Kong, you can stay in Hong Kong for 7 days without a visa. This way you can stay in Hong Kong for 14 days.

Remember that you must enter and exit once within 7 days to complete the transit procedures. Otherwise, you may be included in Hong Kong’s entry blacklist.
