In 1994, it was named "Guilin Tourism College". In 2015, it was upgraded to a general undergraduate college with the approval of the Ministry of Education in 2021. It has become a legal university under the People's Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. It is one of the two independent full-time undergraduate tourism universities in my country. The school currently has two campuses, Yanshan and Juncha, with a total campus area of ??1.2572 million square meters (1,885 acres) and more than 17,000 full-time students, including more than 12,000 undergraduates.
