A must-see specialty store in Chiang Mai.
Go to the store 1. Sabila Wai Pi, a must-see shop in Chiang Mai.
Address: Tapemen is facing Ratchadamnoen Road, less than 20 meters on the right hand side, at the included angle behind Burger King.
This shop was opened by a friend of Kershmia, Khan, and his family, and some dresses were designed by him. The Khan family are all from Ukomia, which is adjacent to Pakistan, India and China. Khan's family has been doing woolen goods business for generations, so the quality of batches around his family is very good. Although Khan himself is not good at words, he is hospitable and often gives reasonable discounts to friends at home. Therefore, if tourists come to Chiang Mai in autumn and winter, they may wish to visit this small shop opposite Taimen.
The shopkeeper is really warm and friendly, and I feel that people here are really friendly ~ the things his family sells are really ethnic, and the price is clearly marked and negotiable.
2. Gypsy House Handmade Leather Store
Address: 164 Rachapakinaird, Prahsing, Muang, Old Town of Chiang Mai.
Pi-juck, the owner, used to run handmade leather goods business in Switzerland, which was full of gypsy customs. He made all the bags and shoes designed in the shop, and the ornaments were given by some of his friends who love manual design. Every shopkeeper has a story behind him, and Pi Zucker is no exception. After his business was blocked, he was cheated by his friends and betrayed by his ex-wife. After he was desperate and drunk, he returned to Chiang Mai and stood up again. If you are interested, go to his shop and listen to it yourself, but girls should not stay for dinner and drinking easily. Cultural differences can easily lead to misunderstandings.
In their home, you can also participate in the whole design and watch the shoemaking process. The shoes in the picture below were designed by comrade Gaia, a friend of the raiders author, and they used limited leather and colorants, so they were enough. Pi Zucker used to be a cook. If you like, he can also teach you Thai food, and he can also teach you how to make jewelry and leather goods. Of course, these conveniences will only happen if you are a girl. Readers should understand, right?
3. Zen Huali Heavy Industry Embroidery Shop
Address: 235 Jiapa Road, zip code: 20 1. Changkrongmeng, a new town in Chiang Mai.
The clothes in this shop are probably the most laborious and gorgeous national embroidery shop I have ever seen. All the clothes in the shop were reworked by designer Chen himself. Before they arrived, they were all colorful and beautiful. If you want to find a unique national robe embroidered by heavy industry, you will be satisfied here. The average price of handmade clothes in the whole store is about four figures RMB. Take the weight of the coat and you'll know it's worth it. You should tow one back to the store next time, no matter how heavy it is. It is so beautiful that people thousands of miles away often think of it. Because I didn't find a suitable photo opportunity, there are no pictures yet, so I will present them next time.
I found this shop when I was wandering around on a motorcycle. There is a big one outside the shop. Chen? Logo, it was unfortunate to pass by that day and it was closed. But I look forward to going in next time. Look ~
4. Su patchett Studio Grocery Store
Address: 56/2 Ratchadamnoen Road. Chiang Mai Old Town, Slipom.
This is a very lovely independent design shop, and all the objects in the shop are made by artist Bhumakarn. Mainly selling bags, postcards, picture frames, handmade ornaments and various home decoration ornaments. There are two lovely small shops next to this shop, and you can also go in and stroll around.
The things sold in it are small and fresh, which is not quite in line with my style ~
5. Herbal Essential Oil Aromatherapy Products Chain Store
Address: 172 Prapok Klaard. Tambol Sriphoom, Muang, Chiang Mai Old Town.
There are also three branches: Tape Road (Xincheng Road opposite the Tape Door), Sunday Night Market and Airport Shopping Center.
When I mentioned the small shop above, I had to mention the basis of herbal medicine, which happened to be very close, so I couldn't look up. Herb Basics mainly sells all kinds of natural herbal essential oils, and aromatherapy products include skin care products and so on. Good quality and low price, harmless to people and animals, suitable for both men and women. Friends who need to bring gifts can buy a bunch here.
It is a coincidence to walk into hb. It was after 2 o'clock at noon. The sun is shining in the sky and the temperature is close to 40 degrees? Actually, I was too hot, so I went to spend the summer. The most intuitive feeling is: so cool, so fragrant! By the way, his family has a fixed place to provide drinking water and food for customers who enter the store. When I went in, the clerk saw that there was water in my hand and motioned for me to put such items in a fixed position. The animals sold by his family belong to the first choice of handwritten letters ~
6. Something called art designs small shops independently.
Address: Opposite the Basic Old Town Branch of Herbal Medicine
This small shop not only sells T-shirts with hand-painted patterns printed by designers themselves, but also various bags, cute ornaments, postcards, trinkets and so on. In fact, small shops like Chiang Mai are not uncommon, but not every store has its own favorite things. How do you know how to bury your treasure unless you dig deep?
I personally tested it: his ornaments are very special, and each one is unique. If you like bracelets and earrings, you can't go wrong in Taobao!
7. Mixed-color cotton undercoat
Address: Old Town Sub-branch? Babcrow road. Chiang Mai Old Town (on the same road as Herb Basic Store)
There are also some branches in Xincheng, and the address has been forgotten. I'll add it next time.
This chain store doesn't seem to be particularly famous in Thailand. There is almost no complete information on the Internet, but it is a very local brand. The bottom coat in the shop is cotton, and the upper body is very comfortable. The inside is sewn with colored lines, and the details are lovely. Moreover, it carries forward the advantages of Thailand's excellent tailoring, but the seemingly ordinary vest is very symmetrical, just covering the chest to reveal the sexy collarbone and back.
The first time I passed by, I just bought a shop with a bottoming shirt across the water 7- 1 1. After shopping, I picked up two casually. Turns out it suits me when I get home. When I come back, I always bring myself two pieces, either as home clothes or as clothes. I like them very much.
8. Fairy Tale Fun Jewelry Store
Address: branch 1? nimmanhaemin Soi 1 1; Branch 2? Babcrow road. Old town of Chiang Mai.
The owner of this small shop has opened two branches, and the works in the shops come from several local designers. The design of rings and necklaces is so cute and interesting that people can't put it down, and they can't get tired of seeing them when they go out. There will be a discount if you buy more accessories in the store. If you are traveling with friends, you can consider buying them together. The size of the ring can be adjusted by the clerk.
I went to the second branch, and most of the things I sold were based on small animals, which was very cute. On the day I went, I just bought three and got a 30% discount.
9. Sinavataisi Factory
Address: 145/ 1-2 Chiang Mai -sink Anbang Road K.M.7 On the way to Bosang Oil Paper Umbrella Village.
The location of this Tess factory is relatively partial, so you need to take a Tuktuk car, a double car or rent a motorcycle or a car. It takes about half an hour by car. The factory is located on the right side of the highway from downtown Chiang Mai to Bosang. This sign is not very clear. This is a lonely building. If you drive alone, drive slowly so as not to miss it.
Shinawatra Thai Silk specializes in all kinds of Thai silk products, including bibs, dresses and fabrics. There is a special discount area on the second floor. You can often buy high-quality Tess fabrics within 1000-3000 baht. Every time I buy clothes for my parents or elders, I will come here directly.
10. John Gallery Handian Branch
Address: No.330 Tapei Road, New Town, Chiang Mai (Tapei Gate is opposite to the main road leading to the new town, about 200 meters).
The shop sells many interesting things, such as ancient bells, tie-dyed thin cloth pendants of various colors, postcards and small pictures made by hand-drawing or tie-dyeing on thin cloth, and so on. When you come out at night, if you have nothing to do, just visit Tapemen. Even if you don't buy anything, it's not bad to visit this small shop like a wooden house to kill time.
The shop entered through a narrow door, and it was not very eye-catching when passing by. But the most intuitive feeling after walking in is colorful, and the color of each tie-dyed cloth is different! I patiently selected a few pieces, although I don't know what I can do when I buy them ~
1 1. The second store, the handmade clothing store opposite Gpisy House (name forgotten).
Address: refer to Gpisy House.
This shop is not prominent, and passers-by often miss it. However, this shop has a lot of good handmade fabrics, such as hand-embroidered long skirts and robes, as well as many colorful fabrics and bibs. The quality is very good, the price is slightly lower than that of the people, but it is also worthy of quality.
Respect the customs of other countries when entering the house, and remember to take off your shoes. Not every store in Thailand is like this, but when you meet a small shop where the owner walks barefoot on the ground, you still have to ask clearly. Being polite will leave a good impression on the store and have an advantage in bargaining. Ha ha.
12. Borsang Village in Chiang Mai
Address: 9 km east of downtown Chiang Mai. You can take a double bus or a sudden bus, or you can rent a car and drive by yourself. It takes about half an hour by car.
There are many local craftsmen in Bosan village. With the development of tourism, Bosang village also has small shops selling handmade dresses, bags and oil-paper umbrellas, and the prices are much lower than those in Chiang Mai. There are not many tourists visiting Bosang Village. In the off-season, basically all the shops are deserted and bleak, and there are not a few shops that don't open the door. Walking around the whole business circle will be very tiring, basking in the sun, and most of them will be tired after only visiting a few shops at the door, so cycling is the best choice. If it's no trouble, you can save some fun and bring some beautiful things back.
There are many small shops that forget their names and pass by. They don't even remember where they are. Only when riding a motorcycle, they groped for the past from memory, and then they knew: Ah, there you are.
