During the Xia and Shang Dynasties, China had the Anqiu Kingdom, and the name of Anqiu began. During the Western Zhou Dynasty, Genmou, Ji Guo and Chunyu coexisted, and Genmou was the ancient city of Anqiu. During the Spring and Autumn Period, the territory belonged to Chunyu, Genmou, Ji, Qi, Qi and Lu. During the Warring States period, most of the territory belonged to Qi State, and a small part of the territory of Zheshan Mountain in the southwest belonged to Lu State.
During the Qin Dynasty, the territory belonged to the adjacent areas of Langya and Jiaodong counties.
