Where is Fukuoka Prefecture located in Japan?

Fukuoka Prefecture is located in the northern part of Kyushu Island, Japan, in the center of the Fukuoka Plain, about 880km from Tokyo, about 890km from Shanghai, and about 450km from Seoul.

Fukuoka Prefecture is very close to the Korean Peninsula and mainland China. It is a transportation hub connecting Kyushu Island and Honshu Island, and it is also a transportation hub from Japan to the Korean Peninsula and mainland China.

Fukuoka Prefecture is opposite to Yamaguchi Prefecture in the east across the surrounding beach.
