Liu Shaoqi’s hometown is located in Huaminglou Town, Ningxiang County, Hunan Province, 50 kilometers east of the provincial capital Changsha, 30 kilometers south of Comrade Mao Zedong’s former residence in Shaoshan, and 30 kilometers north of Ningxiang County. It is located in "Changsha-Zhangjiajie" The natural scenery tour and the "Changsha-Huaminglou-Shaoshan" celebrity hometown tour are the central connection points of the two golden tourism hotlines. They are an important part of the unique "Golden Triangle" of great people's hometowns in the country. Liu Shaoqi's former residence was built in 1871. It faces east and west. It has 21 and a half houses. It faces clear water in front and green mountains in the back. There are towering ancient trees on the left and villagers' farmhouses on the right. The entire former residence has a natural structure, is clean and simple, and is an ordinary farmhouse courtyard with a civil structure. On November 24, 1898, Comrade Shaoqi was born here and spent his childhood and adolescence. In 1961, when Comrade Shaoqi, as the president of the country, returned to his hometown for investigation, he stayed in this house for six days and six nights. The wooden bed and other items in the room were still displayed as they were back then. In January 1988, the former residence was announced by the State Council as a national key cultural relic protection unit. In addition to the original thatched houses and tile-roofed houses, the former residence also displays more than 200 exhibits, maintaining its original style and vividly reproducing the typical style of Jiangnan farmhouses in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and some scenes where Liu Shaoqi lived and studied here. .
