The aurora scene in Yellowknife is more beautiful than I imagined
A small town far away in Canada, with the aurora just around the corner, the most moving aurora scene, an extraordinary light-chasing holy place. In mid-March 2019, accompanied by my relatives, I went to Yellowknife Town, Canada, where I saw the unforgettable "Green Storm" and the unique scenery of Yellowknife Town.
One week before departure, the family WeChat group was discussing the second location of the family travel plan. The older elders still prefer to travel domestically as they choose the first place, and the round trip is more comfortable, while the younger ones hope to go abroad and see more of the world. Conflict suddenly arose, and no one wanted to admit defeat. The quarrel lasted for three days before it stopped. The ending was unexpected. The younger generation defeated the elder. This sounds incredible, because the temper of my elders can be said to be like stone. Yes, Just stubborn. But this is just the beginning. The younger friends want to see the aurora, but the elders have never been interested in this kind of thing, so a new round of war smoke is rising. After finally ending the quarrel, the family trip was divided into two groups, one heading to Hainan International Tourism Island in China, and the other heading to Yellowknife Town in Canada. My age is mixed in, but I don’t think I will enter the retirement stage so soon. I can dance quite well, so I went to Huangdao Town with my younger friends with a shy face. .
I am a relatively "Buddha" person. If I say it nicely, I don't want people to worry about it, but if I say it badly, I would say I am lazy. It can be said that I only participated in the registration part of this trip. The other planning and preparations were all handled by the young guys. I just followed them and shouted 666, "good old women." The guys are very responsible and thoughtful in all aspects of their choices. When choosing a travel agency, I didn’t know anyone at all, but through their introduction, I also gained some understanding. For example, the Aurora Story they chose this time is said to be a travel agency run by a Chinese. It is a well-known and experienced travel agency in Yellowknife Town. The young people spoke one thing after another, so smoothly that I couldn't say anything except agreement. However, as someone who is obsessed with money, I do remember one sentence clearly. Yes, the packages provided by Aurora Story Travel Agency are of high quality and low price. They are very cost-effective within the price range of the same industry, and the service quality is also excellent. It also has its own airport pick-up and drop-off service.
March in Yellowknife Town is not like in China, where the trumpet of spring is ushered in early; March in Yellowknife Town is still snow-covered and cool, and you can see it from the plane. Look down, it's snow-white, very beautiful. At this point, I have to emphasize and remind you that for people with severe airsickness, Yellowknife Town is a place that needs to be carefully considered. The domestic flight to Yellowknife is not easy. It takes almost two days to arrive. There is a boy in the family who suffers from airsickness. Even though Aurora Story’s customer service reminded him (prepare airsickness medicine), he was already prepared. The journey was still extremely "painful", and it made people feel as if he was in pain, but fortunately, he got what he wanted in the end and had a good trip to Yellowknife Town.
On the first day after arriving, we had just gotten off the plane. We were so tired that we could only follow the tour guide in a daze, and we had no desire to talk to our fellow travelers. However, after leaving the airport and being blown by the cold wind, everyone's spirits instantly improved several times, except for the young man who was airsick. On the way to the city, the car suddenly stopped. I thought something had happened. As I was watching, I heard the tour guide slowly introducing us to this location, with the Yellowknife logo "Bristol Monument" We were excited about the scenic spots and asked familiar people to help us take photos, and it became quite lively for a while.
Not long after the tour guide took us to the hotel, before I put down my things, the young people living next door began to shout about going out. I couldn't help but sigh, the vitality of young people is good, just now I was jumping up and down as soon as I got off the plane. After asking the tour guide, I was ready to see where I wanted to go. Maybe because I was an elder, he took more care of me and asked me if I wanted to go with him. The answer was of course no. I had already made plans to sleep until the evening activity time, so I While thanking them, I declined them politely. However, I still saw the place they went to on WeChat, the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre. It was quite nice, but not as nice as the hotel bed.
Soon after I woke up, I followed the large group to chase the aurora. But that night, even though we didn't catch the aurora at all, it was still a fun night. In addition to organizing some games for entertainment, we also teased the little brother (Light Chaser), saying this and that, this "Light Chaser" is not professional enough, the hook is not sharpened, the legs are not long enough, and the hands are too big. Short. The little brother told us so well that his face was redder than a monkey's butt, and he swore to us that he would definitely take us to see the aurora the next day. Everyone didn't care after hearing this, and just said "oh" and left in a hurry. The little brother was so angry that he almost exploded.
The next morning, I got up uncharacteristically early. After taking care of everything, I went on a "city tour" with my cousin that I had arranged last night. We "checked in" and laughed all the way.
We not only went to the must-visit location "Yellow Knife Ice Road", but also went to the Legislative Assembly Building of the North West Province and the Prince of Wales Museum where the young people went yesterday. Originally, my cousin wanted to continue to "check in". But because I collapsed in the middle, we went to Bullock's Bistro, a famous internet celebrity restaurant in Yellowknife Town (booked in advance). My cousin ate very happily, and in the end there wasn't even any crumbs left, but I ate a lot. I was depressed, and I had ten thousand regrets in my heart. I shouldn’t have done it, and the most important thing was that I challenged myself who couldn’t eat raw seafood. Looking at my cousin's mouth that couldn't stop talking, and the "my food" in her mouth, my eyes were almost drooling. Finally, my cousin accompanied me to find something to eat, and we returned to the hotel to wait for the upcoming "Aurora Hunting".
The waiting time did not last long, but we were able to see different scenery along the way, which is probably a kind of luck.
On the second night, a large number of us followed the little brother, chatting about homely things, and walked a lot before we saw the aurora. Just when everyone was immersed in it, the little brother came Looking on from the side, he seemed to be relieved. While biting into the grilled fish prepared in the set meal, I complained in my mind that this place known as "the most frequent occurrence of aurora on earth" actually allowed my precious legs to walk for so long. Complaints are complaints. In fact, our "Aurora Hunter" is still very professional. He brought us out of an "exciting" and "thrilling" feeling, which surprised us again and again. Of course, if we ignore the empty-handedness on the first day But returning is actually pretty good.
Time flies as time flies. The days in Yellowknife Town passed quickly. The young people were reluctant to leave, but they couldn't bear the plan to return home that they had made earlier. Except for a few who had time and money, they chose to stay and play again. A few days later, the rest followed the large army back home without any accidents. I don’t know what they think. Anyway, this trip to Yellowknife was a good experience for me, but I probably won’t do it a second time because the distance is enough to dissuade me. It was the first time I felt like flying. Very tired, although I enjoyed my few days in Yellowknife.
