There is a large area of swamp wetland called "kidney of the earth" in China, which has become an ideal wintering habitat for black-necked cranes, an endangered animal in the world. At the end of each year 10, a large number of black-necked cranes migrate here from the remote Qinghai-Tibet Plateau for the winter and leave in early April of the following year. Black-necked crane is the only crane species living on the plateau in the world. In order to better protect this rare animal, Dashanbao National Black-necked Crane Nature Reserve was established in 2003. Since then, Dashanbao has become a paradise for black-necked cranes.
