Tips and routes for traveling to Xiamen

Where to stay, you can stay in Gulangyu Island. Staying in a family hotel on the island is also a different feeling. We recommend 1930 Coffee Hotel, address: No. 245 Longtou Road, price: 50-390, 2008 This store was only opened in 2017. Each room has a different theme. You can fall asleep to the sound of wind chimes at night. The room has towels and a hair dryer. It is very user-friendly and close to the pier. There is a large open-air balcony on the top floor with a view of the sea. . The standard room is 190 yuan per night. Remember that the double standard B room has a window and needs to be booked one month in advance. When I went there in March, there were already people booking for May. Three people can stay in the Fusang Room for 50 yuan per person. The boss is from Northeast China and has two dogs. One’s name is okay, and the other’s name is Egg Roll, which is very cute.

It is recommended that when you come to Xiamen, you must eat the special snacks and seafood here. I highly recommend the Wutang Shacha Noodles next to the Overseas Chinese Museum. It is very good. There are also other items like oyster pancakes and bamboo shoot jelly that you can check out for yourself.

Also, when you leave the airport, go to the left and you will see the bus station. There are buses in Xiamen that go directly to the airport. You can take bus No. 27 directly to the ferry terminal. The buses in Xiamen only cost one yuan. When you arrive at the pier, you will see the long-loved Gulangyu Island on the other side of the sea. Don't be impatient. First, go to the Ba Po Po shop next to the post office to drink a cup of Shaoxiancao for 2.5 yuan and buy a hand-drawn map for 10 yuan. You can bargain with the boss. . Not far away is the Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street. You can stop by Huang Zehe to drink peanut soup and eat some snacks (remind everyone to be careful of thieves on Zhongshan Road. Do not take photos of people who pose in weird poses, as they are scamming money). After finishing lunch, you can take a leisurely ride on the ferry. The outbound ferry to Gulangyu Island is free and the return trip is 8 yuan. If you go to the second floor, it will cost you 1 yuan. The ferry departs every 15 minutes. It is free after 10 pm. Ten minutes later, we set foot on Gulangyu Island. We checked into the hotel we booked. We put down our bags and took a rest before looking for snacks. When you walk around Longtou Road, you will find that you really can get lost on Gulangyu Island because the house numbers are not arranged according to the conventional method. Gulangyu Island is actually a small island. There is no transportation on the island except sightseeing cars, so you can only rely on walking. Along the way, I saw many newlyweds taking wedding photos, drank Zhang Sanfeng milk tea, ate mochi and Huang Shengji, and then came to Quanzhou Road, where there is a boat shop where you can send letters to the future. I sat down and wrote postcards to my friends, then went to tea time and enjoyed Guchui Curry Crab. At around 7pm, you can go to the Gulangyu Concert Hall to enjoy a concert brought to you by students from the island’s music school. Slowly strolling back to Naya, there are many selling shell jewelry along the road, one piece at a time, and the baby bought a lot of bracelets. I went back to the room, took a shower and rested comfortably, looking forward to my trip to Xiamen University the next day.

You can sleep until nine o'clock in the morning the next day. If it rains, Gulangyu Island will have a unique charm after the rain. After you check out the room and store your schoolbag, go to McDonald's to get coupons for the island's attractions. The facade The price coupon is 80. It is recommended to order it on Taobao for only 65, but in this way you will get the signature of the tour group instead of the ticket. Then take the ferry across the sea for 8 yuan, and then take the 71 bus to the bottom stop of Xiamen University. First, go to the Nanputuo Temple nearby. The entrance fee is 3 yuan. It is said that the Bodhisattva of Nanputuo Temple is very efficacious and prays sincerely. You can buy a box of Nanputuo vegetarian cakes, which is very good. If you want to escape the fare and go to Wanshi Botanical Garden, you can keep climbing up. Arriving at the gate of Xiamen University, I visited slowly for a while and then followed the crowd, walked past Furong Lake, and came to the famous Furong Restaurant. You can pay cash on the third floor. I ordered a fried clam, fried squid, and oyster tofu soup. It was only 21. The soup is so delicious. After eating at Xiamen University, I walked across the campus and walked out of the Baicheng gate. The beach was what I saw. It’s true that you can see the sea when you leave the school gate. Students at Xiamen University are so happy. The dormitories are still like castles. Take off your shoes and dive into the sea without hesitation, take photos and then go to Huli Mountain Fort. Tickets are 25 and you can see the Hongyi Cannon firing performance. After you come out, you can rent a bicycle for 15 an hour, and you can bargain for an unlimited time. Then you can slowly walk along the Huandao Road to admire the Heron Island, and you can also see the beautiful scenery of the seaside under the sunset. I rode back and got my deposit back, took the bus back to Zhongshan Road, took a stroll and took a taxi to the Little Glasses Food Stall, and had a hearty meal of seafood. This restaurant is cheap and affordable. If you go there late, there will be no seats. After a good meal, we went back to the ferry to take the ferry back to Gulangyu Island, picked up our school bags and checked into the 1930 Coffee Hotel. As soon as I entered the room, I was pleasantly surprised. The hand-painted walls were very creative. There were bath towels and a hairdryer in the bathroom. By the way, I teased the boss and said "it's okay" before falling asleep and going to see the island's attractions tomorrow.

You can get up early on the third day because you have to climb Sunlight Rock. The highest peak of Sunlight Rock is a few square meters of rock, so if you go there late, there will be people standing on top and you won’t be able to take pictures. . Most of the shops on the island are not open before nine o'clock. You can walk quietly through the streets and alleys to Sunlight Rock. From the highest peak of Sunlight Rock, you can overlook the entire Gulangyu Island. It is very windy up there, but it is very comfortable. After coming down, you can take the cable car and take a look at the Bird Garden, where you can go for a walk. The cable car is one-way, but it does not open before nine o'clock. It is recommended that you walk up first and then take the cable car down without wasting time. Follow the signs and walk a short distance to Shuzhuang Garden, which contains twelve caves, forty-four bridges and two piano museums. It is very good. There will be many tour guides leading groups, so you can stop by the island to listen to the introduction. There is an automatic piano in the piano museum, and the staff will play it from time to time. The entrance fee to Sunlight Rock is RMB 60, and to Shuzhuang Garden is RMB 30, but the combined ticket includes Sunlight Rock, Aviary Garden, Shuzhuang Garden, Haoyue Garden, Organ Museum, and Engraving Museum, so it’s a good deal.

After visiting the Engraving Museum next to it, we strolled along the seaside to Haoyue Garden, where there is a huge statue of Zheng Chenggong. After coming out, we walked not far to the commercial street. We went back to 1930 and took a rest. In the afternoon, we went to the Organ Museum. Interested students can also go to the Underwater World. The ticket is 70, and the student ID card is 40. In the evening, I went to Longtou 189 to eat fried oysters and five-spice sticks, bought a cup of marasam, and then went back to the hotel after shopping. I found that time passed so quickly.

On the last day on Gulangyu Island, I had a good sleep, got up and went to Lili Xiangbian Restaurant for breakfast. The noodles were so delicious. Then I went around to buy food to take home, such as mochi, dried meat, BBC’s private royal pies, and New Sihai dry goods. After everything was done, I wandered around the island nostalgically, and visited the nice gift shops on the island, such as Ziziya. In the afternoon, I took the ferry back to Xiamen, went to Datong Road Jiawei Zaitian Snack Shop for snacks, had Datong duck porridge, watched Gulangyu Island under the sunset for the last time, and then drove to the airport

(I only wrote this for four days Xiamen trip, I don’t know where you want to go. There are no Tulou in Xiamen.
