China has 23 provinces, 4 municipalities, 2 special administrative regions and 5 autonomous regions.

2. Four municipalities directly under the Central Government:

3. Five autonomous regions:

(1) Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region: Inner Mongolia for short. Hohhot, the capital. Inner Mongolia is one of the provincial-level administrative regions with many neighboring provinces in China, spanning three major regions: Northeast China, North China and Northwest China, and adjacent to eight provinces.

(2) Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region: referred to as "New". It is the largest provincial administrative region in China, located in the northwest of China.

4. Two special administrative regions:

(1) Macau, referred to as "Macau" for short, is located on the southeast coast of Chinese mainland, on the west bank of the Pearl River Delta, adjacent to Zhuhai City in Guangdong Province in the north, facing Wanchai and Hengqin in Zhuhai City in the west, facing Hong Kong across the sea in the east and the South China Sea in China in the south.

(2) Hong Kong, referred to as "Hong Kong" for short, is called the People's Republic of China (PRC) Special Administrative Region.
