Famous tourist attractions across the country

China’s landscape tourism resources are quite rich, with more than 30,000 scenic spots (including more than 10,300 A-level scenic spots, including 259 5A-level and 3,034 4A-level scenic spots), red tourism classic scenic spots 300, including 26 national tourist resorts, 10 tourism and leisure demonstration cities, 110 national eco-tourism demonstration zones, more than 900 self-driving and RV campsites under construction, and 16 national general aviation tourism demonstration bases.

These scenic spots can be divided differently from different perspectives. Based on their main landscapes, they can be roughly divided into the following five types:

1. Lake Scenic Spots ( The more famous scenic spots include Baiyangdian, Hangzhou West Lake, Nanjing Xuanwu Lake, Wuhan East Lake, Xinjiang Tianshan Tianchi, Qinghai Lake, and Danjiangkou Reservoir)

2. Mountain scenic spots (the more famous scenic spots include Yanshan, Taishan, and Hengshan , Huashan, Purple Mountain, Alishan)

3. Forest Scenic Area (the more famous scenic spots are Xishuangbanna, Zhangjiajie in Hunan, Baotianman in Henan, Wolong in Sichuan, and Shennongjia in Hubei)

4. Landscape scenic spots (famous scenic spots include the Li River in Guilin, the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, and Jiuqu River in Wuyi)

5. Coastal scenic spots (famous scenic spots include Hainan Tianya Haijiao, Xiamen, and Dalian).
