Chengdu On September 19, the 22nd General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization opened in Chengdu. Dorina Bianchi, Italian Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage, Activities and Tourism, represented Italy at the meeting.

Dorina Bianchi said that Italy is improving its reception system for tourists from China through the "Welcome to China" program. The plan includes improving hotel facilities to make them more suitable for receiving tourists from China, adding Chinese signs at major Italian airports and railway stations, and fully demonstrating the charm of "Made in Italy" to China tourists.

Data show that from August 2065438 to August 2007, the number of individual tourist visas for China tourists to Italy increased by more than 22%, and the number of visa applications exceeded 300,000.

Dorina Bianchi said, "We are trying to explore new Italian tourist routes and develop tourist destinations different from internationally renowned attractions."

"Both Italy and China have a history of thousands of years. From the perspective of tourism and culture, Italy and China are the two countries with the largest number of world cultural and natural heritage recognized by UNESCO (53 in Italy and 52 in China). " Dorina Bianchi said.

During the meeting, Dorina Bianchi also said that Italy is willing to further strengthen its cooperation with China in the field of tourism under the Belt and Road Initiative, believing that this will push the tourism cooperation between the two sides to a new height. Italy will also actively support Italian tourism enterprises to join the World Tourism Alliance.
