Danshui Town is located in the northwest corner of Taipei County, facing Bali Township across the Danshui River in the south, Datun Mountain in Beitou District of Taipei City in the east, and Sanzhi and Fuzhou City in Fujian Province across the Taiwan Province Strait in the north. Danshui Street is built along the river, which is very watery. It has been one of the eight scenic spots in Taiwan since ancient times, and it used to be called "Venice of the East". Historically, it was the largest port in Taiwan Province Province and the starting point for the spread of western civilization in northern Taiwan Province Province.
2. Sun Moon Lake
Sun Moon Lake, a famous scenic spot in Taiwan Province Province, is the only natural lake in Taiwan Province Province, and its natural charm is comparable to that of Hangzhou West Lake. The lake is 740 meters above sea level, with an area of 7.73 square kilometers, a circumference of 35 kilometers and an average water depth of 40 meters. There is an island in the pool called Zhu Zaiyu, also known as Pig Mountain, with an altitude of 745 meters. Taking this island as the boundary, the northern half lake looks like a full moon and the southern half lake looks like a crescent moon, hence the name Sun Moon Lake.
3. Museum of Marine Life
Known as the world's largest aquarium in Southeast Asia, Taiwan Province Marine Life Museum stands on the seashore of Houwan, and it is planned to be divided into two parts: Taiwan Province Water Museum and Coral Kingdom Museum. In addition to exhibition and educational functions, it will also become an important town for marine research on the island. At present, the Taiwan Province Water Museum, which is open, is mainly composed of several large aquarium tanks with vivid scenes, showing the fish resources in streams, lakes and ponds in Taiwan Province Province. The Coral Kingdom Pavilion is based on coral reefs in the South China Sea, with four undersea tunnels, a sinking area and a cetacean pond.
