What freshwater lakes are there?

Honghu lake 1

Honghu Lake is one of the seven freshwater lakes in China, located in honghu city, Hubei Province, with a water surface area of 350km, a maximum depth of 6.5m and an average depth of1.5 m. It has many functions such as water supply, irrigation, wetland biological habitat, breeding and tourism. Honghu lotus root and crayfish are very famous in China.

Area: about 350 square kilometers.

2. Liangzi Lake

Liangzi Lake, a national 4A and tourist attraction, belongs to Ezhou, a prefecture-level city. The lake is rich in freshwater fish and shrimp such as Wuchang fish, mullet, whitebait, mandarin fish and hairy crabs, among which Wuchang fish is the most famous. When you come to Hubei Province, you must eat Wuchang fish.

3. Lake Yax

Axe Lake covers an area of 16 1 km2 and is located at the junction of Jiayu, Jiangxia and Xian 'an counties. The lake has aquatic resources, and Dupu Town on the west bank of Axe Lake has built an intensive fish pond base of 10,000 mu.

4. Longgan Lake

Longgan Lake is located in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in Hubei Province, at the junction of Anqing City in Anhui Province and Huanggang City in Hubei Province. It is an important flood storage area in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River in Hubei Province. It is 28km long from east to west, and the lake bottom is10.5m above sea level, covering an area of 420km2 (including 266km2 in Anhui). There are more than 60 kinds of freshwater fish such as silver carp, grass carp, bighead carp, carp, bream, mullet, whitebait and mullet.

5. Changhu Lake

Changhu Lake is the third largest lake in Hubei Province, located between Jingmen, Jingzhou and Qianjiang, with an area of about 140 square kilometers. It is connected with the Yangtze River, Hanjiang River and Xijiang River, and has many functions such as flood storage, shipping, irrigation and aquaculture.

Area: 122~ 150 km2
