Brief introduction of Taishan Temple in Taiyuan
Young people may think it is in Shandong, but older people all know that there is Mount Tai Temple in Shanxi. As one of the typical scenic spots of traditional culture in China and China, Mount Tai has attracted people's attention since ancient times. Taishan Temple originated from the closed ceremony of ancient emperors. There is Taishan Temple in our city, which can prove that Taiyuan is a veritable historical and cultural city.
Taishan Temple is located in Jiangyuan Lane, Taiyuan City. In the Ming Dynasty, there was an ancient temple on the west side of Jiangyuan Lane, commonly known as Taishan Temple, which was renamed Zhonghe Market in the late Qing Dynasty. When the Japanese invaded, there was a civilized market in the west called the first market, so it was called the second market. The second market is located on the north side of the east section of Chonglou Street, which runs from Chonglou Street in the south to tea garden in the north, with a total length of 1 13m and a width of 5m. It is paved with asphalt and can be used by small and medium-sized vehicles. There are old-fashioned tile houses on both sides, including Liuxiang Sub-district Office, Liuxiang Police Station, Second Market Grain Store, Hotel Processing Department and Sporting Goods Store. It is a commercial area and is under the jurisdiction of Liuxiang Neighborhood Committee.
The origin of Mount Tai Temple is related to the emperor's respect for Mount Tai. Mount Tai is also called "Dongyue Temple" because Mount Tai is called Dongyue. Before the Qin and Han Dynasties, the ancients believed that Mount Tai was a place where people and gods were interlinked, and they were in awe of it. During the Yongping period of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Liu Zhuang, Emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty, named Mount Tai as "Emperor Dongyue", who was in charge of the underworld and people's life and death. Since then, Taishan God has become an official in charge of immortals, personnel and ghosts. According to historical records, from the pre-Qin Dynasty to the early Qing Dynasty, emperors like Qin Shihuang, Hu Hai II, Liu Che in the Western Han Dynasty, Liu Xiu, Zhang Ji, Andi Liu Youzuo in the Eastern Han Dynasty, Li Zhi in Tang Gaozong, Li Longji in Xuanzong, Zhao Huan in Song Zhenzong, Michelle Ye in the Qing Dynasty, etc. 10 went to Taishan to retreat, which led to the prevalence of folk sacrifices to Dongyue the Great.
Yue is the god of Mount Tai, and Taoism follows the folk custom of worship. East Mount Tai is the first of the five mountains. "The Origin of the Three Religions" said: "Mount Tai is the ancestor of Wanshan, the ancestor of Wuyue, the grandson of the Emperor of Heaven and the home of the gods!" Before the Qin and Han Dynasties, the ancients regarded Mount Tai as a "precipitous place", a place where people connected with the sky, and especially worshipped and feared it, and called it the God of Mount Tai, namely the Emperor Dongyue. After Qin and Han Dynasties, the influence of Mount Tai gradually penetrated into all social strata and entered people's daily life. Therefore, as the God of Yin and Yang and the beginning of all things, Mount Tai, on the basis of maintaining the peace and longevity of the country and people, is extended to the Lord of the underworld who can summon souls and control ghosts. From the Tang Dynasty to the Yuan Dynasty, many emperors called Dongyue King, King, King, Holy King, H.
The founding date of Taishan Temple in Taiyuan cannot be verified. The site is on the east side of the road, facing south. It was demolished in the early years of the Republic of China and rebuilt in Luxi in the 30 th year of the Republic of China (A.D. 194 1). The temple faces east in the west and is a quadrangle building. There are 26 halls covering an area of 395 square meters. The main hall is divided into two floors, both of which are five-storey hard-topped pavilions with stone tablets of the Republic of China on the eaves.
To the north of Mount Tai are tea gardens, Dashui Lane and Wuguai Lane. The ground is not big, hundreds of meters from east to west, and the streets and courtyards are relatively neat. Dashui Lane is a narrow north-south lane, where there is a theater garden, and more and more people come and go. Especially those businessmen from Hebei who love watching and commenting on Beijing Opera are frequent visitors to this alley. At that time, many Hebei people were doing business and making handicrafts in Taiyuan. If you ask him where the Meishan Governor's Office is, he may not know, but if you ask Dashui Lane, he will give you a clear concept. From the entrance to the bottom of the building, Wuguai Lane passes through a winding alley more than one meter wide, and you can reach Taishan Temple from behind the tea garden. Five lanes are surprisingly narrow! It can't drive a minibus, so fat people should be more careful when crossing the driveway, for fear of rubbing against the walls on both sides. Because there are five sharp turns, it is named "Five Turn Lane".
Taishan Temple is not big in the east, west, north and south, accounting for only a quarter of Haizi's side. Why is the reputation so loud? First, it is located in the center of Taiyuan, and the traffic is very convenient. Second, Liuxiang in the east and Chonglou Street in the south are bustling business districts. Another reason why Mount Tai is famous is that there used to be a famous small theater. This small theater is exquisite. You can't be a star without being famous, so it's hard to get on the small stage here. Generally, people who are famous in Haizi and Hua Kai can show their skills in Taishan Temple. For example, Ding, a famous performing artist of Jin Opera, had followed their master Sun to sing in other places before he boarded the stage of Taishan Temple.
Sometimes, Ding Guoxian and his fans will sing in the streets of Kaihua Temple. He doesn't wear costumes, but only sings oratorios on erhu. But when he performed in Taishan Temple, he put on his clothes and boots and sang seriously. Although the stage of Taishan Temple is small, it is a blessed land of Ding Guoxian. Accompanied by the music of Jin opera, her play sang here.
