Traveling to Sweden, what materials are needed to apply for a Swedish tourist visa?
Required materials for visa application
1. Basic materials:
(1) Passport or other travel documents, and attach a copy of the identity page of the passport. The passport must remain valid for three months after the visa expiry date. The passport must be signed by the bearer, otherwise it will be refused.
(2) A set of detailed application forms including Schedule A in English or Swedish.
(3) One two-inch passport photo.
(4) Invitation letter from Sweden (original), containing the following content:
1) Personal information of the invitee.
2) Estimated period of stay.
3) Purpose of visit and itinerary.
4) It is necessary to sign and indicate the inviting party’s company address, telephone number, fax, etc.
(5) English dispatch letter from the Chinese company or unit. The following content should be included:
1) Applicant’s name, position, purpose of visit, and length of stay.
2) Guarantee for returning to the country.
3) It should be written on official paper, signed by the leader, stamped by the company and indicate the address, telephone number, fax, etc.
4) This assignment letter must be original and the signatory cannot be the applicant.
(6) Copies of business licenses of both companies (Chinese and Swedish). The business license must be within the validity period, and the date of printing and issuance of the Swedish company's business license cannot be more than one year from the date of application.
(7) Economic guarantee. (You can indicate in the invitation letter or dispatch letter who will bear your expenses in Sweden). The required funds in Sweden are 40 euros per person per day.
(8) Travel medical insurance with an insurance amount of not less than 30,000 euros. The insurance must be included during the entire trip to the Schengen Area (until 24:00 European local time when leaving the Schengen Area). Original and one copy of the policy (the policy must be a printed text, handwritten policies are not accepted). When entering the Schengen country, you should carry the original copy of the policy with you in case of border inspection. If you do not bring it, you may be refused entry.
(9) Applicants should present a copy of a valid Chinese residence permit.
(10) The embassy or consulate has the right to require the applicant to provide further materials, supplement information or conduct an interview.

3. Long-term visa (Category D) visa.
(1) Apply for a residence permit visa to study or research abroad.
1) Two sets of completed and signed application forms.
2) Two passport photos taken within six months. Unsatisfactory photos will be returned.
3) Two copies of the identity pages of your passport. If you don’t have a passport, you can apply first and pay later. The embassy only accepts passports signed by the passport holder.
4) A statement, proof of registration for full-time study in Sweden and its copy.
5) If you plan to study Swedish before studying for undergraduate studies, you must provide the admission notice from the language school and the admission confirmation letter from the undergraduate university when applying.
6) If you have an employer in China, you should also provide a letter of introduction (in English) and its copy. This letter of introduction should mention your position and have the employer's address, phone number, stamp and signature.
7) To participate in the exchange program between Chinese and Swedish schools, you need to provide an original and a copy of the introduction letter from the school where you are located.
8) Fund guarantee, such as bank deposit certificate. A year is calculated as ten months, which means at least SEK 7,300 per month. A guarantee of funds sufficient to complete the entire studies in Sweden should be provided. Provide English materials and their copies. The funds must be deposited in the bank in the applicant's personal name.
9) If you study in Sweden for less than one year, you must purchase a comprehensive health insurance. The insurance should cover the entire duration of your stay, with an insurance amount of at least 30,000 euros, including emergency medical treatment and medical expenses back home.
10) If you are under 18 years old, you should provide a notarized certificate and birth certificate stating that your parents know and agree to the applicant’s settlement in Sweden. All notarial certificates must be authenticated.
a. Both parents need to sign the visa application form.
b. At least one parent must accompany the applicant to the embassy to submit the visa application. If neither parent can accompany you, written authorization must be given to another adult over the age of 18. If the teacher accompanies you to the embassy.
c. Provide a notarial certificate and birth certificate stating that your parents agree to your application to travel to Sweden. The notarial certificate must be authenticated.
(2) Work visa application: You can only work in Sweden after obtaining a work permit in advance. If the working period is less than three months, you should apply for a visa. If it exceeds three months, you should apply for a residence permit at the same time as you apply for a work permit. Usually, the Immigration Bureau will only approve work permits in certain special fields where there is a labor shortage, or if the applicant has been employed in an international exchange program.

3) Two copies of the identity pages of your passport. Only passports signed by the passport holder are accepted.
4) Job offer letter: You can download the job offer letter filled out by the Swedish employer and signed by the local labor department on the website of the Swedish Immigration Agency, No. 232011 (called: Offer of Employment in English).
5) The relevant application materials should be submitted to the embassy or consulate at least ten weeks before the date of departure to Switzerland. Applicants may be asked to provide additional materials if necessary.
(3) Apply for a residence permit due to kinship: If you plan to live in Sweden for a long time with your husband, wife, cohabiting partner, children or other close relatives, you should apply for a residence permit before leaving for Sweden. Applicants who decide to settle in Sweden with their families apply for a residence permit at the Swedish Embassy in China. After submitting the documents, the embassy will arrange a conversation.

2) Two sets of completed and signed family specific situation forms.
3) Two recent (within 6 months) passport photos.
4) Two copies of the identity pages of your passport. Only passports signed by the passport holder are accepted.
5) Notarized marriage certificate in Chinese and English and its copy. If you were married in Sweden, please provide two copies of the Swedish marriage certificate.
6) If the marital status is divorced, a notarized certificate proving no remarriage registration record in Chinese and English and its copy should be provided. If you are unmarried, please provide a notarized certificate of no marriage registration record in Chinese and English and its copy.
7) Notary certificate of household registration book (original and photocopy in Chinese and English).
8) Two copies of the identity page of the husband/wife/common-law partner’s passport.
9) Two copies of the identity certificate (personbevis) of the husband/wife/common-law partner issued by the tax bureau.
10) If the application acceptance fee is refused, the embassy will not refund the fee. The application acceptance fee is RMB 1,525. The Swedish Embassy only accepts payment of application fees by bank card. Cash will only be accepted for payment of various fees if bank cards are not available.
(4) Visa to settle with parents: For children under 18 years old, if both or one of their parents are in Sweden, the child will settle in Sweden with the father/mother.
1) Two sets of completed and signed application forms.
2) Two sets of completed and signed family specific situation forms.
3) Three recent (6 months old) passport photos, two of which should be attached to the application form and the other should be submitted with the materials.
4) Two copies of the identity pages of your passport. Only passports signed by the passport holder are accepted.
5) Notarized birth certificate in Chinese and English and its copy.
6) Notarized child custody certificate in Chinese and English and its copy.
7) If one of the child's parents stays in China, he/she should provide a letter (in English) proving that he/she knows and agrees with the child's application to go to Sweden.
8) Notary certificate of household registration book (original and photocopy in Chinese and English).
9) Two copies of the identity page of the parents’ (in Sweden) passport.
10) Two copies of the identity certificate (personbevis) of the parents (in Sweden) issued by the tax bureau.
11) If the application acceptance fee is refused, the embassy will not refund the fee. The application acceptance fee for children under 18 years old is currently RMB 760. The Swedish Embassy only accepts payment of application fees by bank card. Cash will only be accepted for payment of various fees if bank cards are not available.
(5) Visa to live with relatives: Plan to live in Sweden with children, parents (children over 18 years old) or other relatives.
1) Two sets of completed and signed application forms.
2) Two sets of completed and signed family specific situation forms.
3) Three recent (within 6 months) passport photos, two of which should be attached to the application form and the other should be submitted with the materials.
4) Notarized kinship certificate in Chinese and English and its copy.
5) Notary certificate of household registration book (original and photocopy in Chinese and English).
6) Two copies of the identity page of the passport of the parent, child or other relative (in Sweden).
7) Two copies of identity certificates (personbevis) of parents, children or other relatives (in Sweden) issued by the tax office.
8) Other documents indicating in what ways you are dependent on your children/parents/relatives.
(6) Residence permit visa for working companions: If you plan to live with your husband/wife/cohabiting partner/parents*** who is working in Switzerland for a period of time, you should apply for a residence permit. Apply for a residence permit at the Swedish Embassy in China. After the embassy accepts the application, it will submit your application to the Swedish Immigration Service. If the application is approved, the Swedish Immigration Service will send the residence permit card to the embassy in China after it has been processed. The embassy will notify the applicant to come to the embassy to collect the permit card. You are not allowed to enter Sweden and wait for a decision from the Immigration Service. Application materials need to be submitted:
1) Two sets of completed and signed application forms.
2) Two sets of completed and signed family specific situation forms.
3) Two passport photos within six months.
4) Two copies of the identity pages of your passport. Only passports signed by the passport holder are accepted. If you don’t have a passport, you can apply first and submit it later.
5) Notarized marriage certificate in Chinese and English and its copy. If you have been married in Sweden, please provide two copies of the Swedish marriage certificate.
6) If the marital status is divorced, a notarized certificate proving no remarriage registration record in Chinese and English and its copy should be provided. If you are not married, please provide a notarized certificate of no marriage registration record in Chinese and English and its copy.
7) Notary certificate of kinship between the inviter and the applicant, which must be certified by the local foreign affairs department.
8) Two copies of the identity page of the husband/wife/common-law partner’s passport.
9) Two copies of the identity certificate (personbevis) of the husband/wife/common-law partner issued by the tax bureau.
10) Invitation letter from husband/wife/cohabiting partner and copy.
11) For financial guarantees accompanying applicants who are self-employed or working, a financial guarantee of at least CZK 3,500 per month and a copy thereof must be presented.
12) If one of the child's parents remains in China, he/she should provide an English letter and its copy. The letter must confirm knowledge and approval of the child's application to reunite with relatives in Sweden.
13) Two copies of the identity page of the parents’ passports.
14) Two copies of the identity certificate (personbevis) of the parents (in Sweden) issued by the tax bureau.
15) Invitation letter from parents living in Sweden and its copy.
16) Financial guarantee (at least 2,700 kronor per month for living expenses in Sweden) for accompanying self-employed or working applicants and its copy.
17) If the above necessary materials are not provided, the application process may be delayed. Applicants may be asked to provide additional materials if necessary.
