Considering weather and temperature, visibility of scenic spots, comfort and other factors, self-driving around Beijing during the Spring Festival is recommended as follows:

Zhangjiakou-Xuanhua-Yanqing is the first resort. On the first day, I went straight to Zhangjiakou. Several ski resorts in Chongli are good. I recommend Genting Ski Resort (270 km drive, Jingcheng Expressway), which has good scenery and can also stay at Genting World Hotel. The next day, you can pass by Xuanhua Ancient City and Ji Ming Post Station (the most complete and largest post station around Beijing). In the evening, go to Yanqing Longqing Gorge to see the ice lanterns and find a hot spring hotel to stay; On the third day, the hotel went to the hot spring and went home;

In the past two years, you can often see the advertisement of "Yuxian celebrates the New Year". Yuxian also belongs to Zhangjiakou, but it is farther west. You can also choose to go to Yuxian after skiing.

Secondly, Datong-Wutai Mountain-Pingyao Ancient City. Should be familiar with, the whole journey is a bit long and uncomfortable; Datong and Wutai Mountain are too cold.

Thirdly, find a hot spring resort hotel in the suburbs of Beijing. If you want to go out for a walk, drive out to a small scenic spot nearby.

If you can choose to rent a car locally, it is suggested to fly to Nanning, rent a car at the airport and go straight to Detian Waterfall and Shi Ming Garden. Not many people, comfortable temperature and leisure! We passed by on New Year's Day last year, and it felt good. We especially recommend two hotels, one is the old kapok hotel near Detian, and the other is the rural villa in Shi Ming!
