What is the reason for “cheating”?

During the Spring Festival, scandals over customer rip-offs were exposed in Sanya, Xiamen and other places, which tarnished the festive holidays and added some notoriety to those beautiful tourist attractions. The offending scandal seems to occur in isolated places, but in fact it is very common. Think about it, from Beijing to Guangzhou, from Lijiang to Mohe, which place has not seen bullying of foreign guests in the name of tourism? Although the methods used to rip off customers vary in different places, and the ferocity with which they rip off customers varies, both big and small evils are evils. It is time for such a universal and ugly phenomenon to be seriously rectified. Many people believe that the responsibility for the phenomenon of robbing customers lies with the government, the specific scenic spot management departments and some law enforcement departments. This kind of analysis cannot be said to be unreasonable. Take Hainan Province as an example: When Hainan proposed building an international tourist island, some people questioned whether Hainan was ready? The reason for questioning is that although Hainan has the country's leading high-quality vacation tourism resources, the level of tourism services and tourism environment there is notoriously poor compared with other places. At that time, people repeatedly emphasized that in order to build a decent international tourist island, Hainan must pay attention to software construction, including humanistic environment, vacation atmosphere, tourism services, scenic spot management, etc. What is terrible is that after so many years, Hainan has changed several leaders, but the chronic disease of bullying and extortion in the tourism industry has not abated, but has become unscrupulous. In this regard, how do relevant government departments face the question of whether they are ready? How to face accountability? Of course, in the era of mass tourism, it is unconvincing to blame the government entirely for the repeated phenomenon of robbing tourists. In Chinese society, there has always been a saying that it is good to stay at home for a thousand days, but it is difficult to go out for a while. On the one hand, this is because under the conditions of regional differences, locals and outsiders have different customs, making information exchange difficult, and some misunderstandings are inevitable. For example, Mr. Hou Baolin once mentioned in a classic passage in "Drama and Dialect" that when northerners went to Shanghai to get a haircut, they heard "tai tai tai" as "hit" and thought that the other party was going to hit someone. This was a typical misunderstanding. But the more fundamental reason behind what we call the offending phenomenon today is that in almost many places, especially in economically developed places, there is widespread regional discrimination in which people from one city and one place look down on people from other places. People despise the class discrimination of country people, and the consciousness of reverse discrimination caused by the above discrimination is that people in small places take revenge on people in big places. Such mutual discrimination will naturally lead to mutual abuse. If you are in the first grade of junior high school and he is still in the fifteenth grade, all kinds of bad habits such as bullying students and robbing guests will become the norm. Behaviors such as bullying students and robbing customers can be considered as dishonesty. The essential reason for not being honest can be found in the category of morality. When Chinese people talk about moral standards, the first priority is benevolence. According to the view of Chinese scholar Sun Longji, the word benevolence focuses on the relationship between two people. In other words, any individual must show whether he is benevolent and righteous enough and the degree of benevolence and righteousness when dealing with other people. A person with sufficiently high moral standards must be honest and trustworthy, modest and generous not only to family and friends, but also to one's own people and acquaintances. We should also treat others who have nothing to do with us, strangers we have never met before, and passers-by we meet by chance. We should also treat them with courtesy, be honest and not deceive, and even be willing to help. On the contrary, if a person is only sanctimonious in the circle of acquaintances, but secretly plots against strangers, there must be something wrong with his moral character. If a person, whether raw or mature, is jealous of others, this person's moral character must be inferior to others. From this point of view, whether there is a serious phenomenon of robbing customers in a certain place not only tests the level of government management of that place, but also reflects the moral quality of the people in that place. If unruly people appear in poor mountains and rivers, it can be understood that it is caused by poor objective reasons, then if a picturesque tourist resort openly slaughters guests, it can only be said that there is something wrong with the subjective aspects of the people in that place.
