Jinling Village is located in the northeast of Xincheng Town, Dawu County, Xiaogan City, Hubei Province. It is the hometown of Xu Haidong, the founding general of the People's Republic of China. In the late Ming Dynasty, the Liu family of Zhangba Village built a temple in the east of the village and named it Zhangba Temple (the temple was demolished in 1958). There are now three ginkgo trees left. The largest one is nearly 3 meters in diameter and is four to five hundred years old. Its history was changed to Jinling Village during the "Four Clean-ups" movement in 1964.
