During the summer vacation, my parents and I went to Old Town of Lijiang.

As soon as I entered the ancient city, wow! What I see in front of me is a completely different world from the outside world. Slate paved paths and narrow streets. These houses are all in ancient style. The roof paved with various tiles is very interesting. The door of the house is engraved with various patterns, such as flying dragons and blooming flowers. They are all lifelike, exquisite and quaint buildings.

This ancient city has a history of 800 years. It has been included in the world cultural heritage. It is a well-preserved ancient city in the world today, attracting people from all over the world to visit it. My heart almost jumps out at the thought of entering an ancient city with such a long history.

There are clear streams in front of every household here. This stream is very clear, and you can see the bright pebbles and green grass in the water. The river is cool, so you can wash your hands, wash rice and wash clothes. I also washed my face with river water! From time to time, you can see many yellow fish swimming around in the water. On this day, we came to Lijiang, an ancient city with a long history, and visited the famous Yulong Snow Mountain here.

Yulong Snow Mountain is more than 5000 meters above sea level. The thin air and lack of oxygen on the mountain are prone to altitude sickness, which is a great test for the physical quality of climbers. Moreover, the temperature on the mountain is low and the weather is changeable and unpredictable.

At the foot of the mountain, I already felt the chill of the attack. It seems that it is not easy to climb this snowy mountain. We take the bus to a certain height first, and then take the cable car up the mountain. The tourist bus travels on the winding Panshan Highway. I looked out of the window: the trees were lush and covered with vast mountains. Why don't they look like snow mountains at all? My heart is full of questions. But as the car goes higher and higher, trees become scarce. Oh! It turns out that trees are also afraid of cold.

We soon got halfway up the mountain, rented a big cotton-padded jacket, bought an oxygen bottle, and prepared to go up the mountain with all the equipment. The cable car kept sending one passenger after another up the mountain, and finally it was our turn. I got on the cable car and looked down through the window. Only a few big trees grow sparsely in the mountains and are not afraid of the cold. The cable car rose steadily and I looked at the distance. The rolling sea of clouds wrapped around the mountainside, a vast expanse of white, spectacular!

There are not many tourists in Old Town of Lijiang under the continuous drizzle, especially those alleys far away from the center of the ancient city. It seems as if it was a lifetime ago.

Walking in the narrow alleys of the ancient city, watching carefully while walking slowly, quietly listening to the "rustling" rain, no matter what troubles, it seems that they will disappear with the falling raindrops.

Houses on both sides of the alley. White walls and tiles are dignified in simplicity and quiet in elegance. Occasionally, the owner who looks out from the probe inside the house will always give us tourists a friendly smile.

Walking in the alley like this, looking at the wall across the front, the alley seems to have come to an end. Just as we were preparing to go back the same way, suddenly a man came out from the front corner. We stepped forward curiously, turned around and saw a deep alley. People in the ancient city especially love cleanliness. They like to dig a small ditch on the roadside in front of the door and clean mops and other tools with the water flowing down from the upstream. Therefore ... in the ancient city, as long as there are roads and people, there will always be a narrow ditch, which connects households and becomes a unique scenery in the ancient city. The light rain in the past few days has filled the ditch with water. Along the terrain, the water in the ditch "spouted" and seemed to tell passers-by the story of the ancient city for thousands of years.

We walked down the ditch, the alley gradually widened, and the exit of the ancient city was in front of us. At this time, I suddenly felt that as long as I walked along this ditch, I could find the exit. I asked the local people for verification again, and the result is really like this! No wonder signs are rarely seen in the ancient city. It turns out that there are enthusiastic people in the ancient city who are guiding foreign tourists in this unique way!

We walked back to Sifang Street along the ditch and became lively at once. People come and go in various shops, and some shopkeepers are selling with simple local accent, which is very lively. At this time, the ancient city was less dignified and more prosperous.

The short journey is coming to an end, and my heart has been attracted by the tranquility, simplicity and elegance of Old Town of Lijiang.
