The history of the old town

In the early days of the Anti-Japanese War, it belonged to Shulu County. In 1942, it belonged to Shenshu County. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, it belonged to District 1 of Shulu County in 1946, when the county government was in the old city. In September 1949, the county government moved to Xinji. After the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, it belonged to District 1 of Shulu County. A mutual aid group was established here in 1951, a junior cooperative was established in 1955, and a senior cooperative was established in 1956. When the people's commune was implemented in 1958, it belonged to the old city management area of ??Dongfeng People's Commune in the old city. In 1961, the size of the commune was reduced and the management area was divided into the Old City Commune. In 1982, it was renamed the Management Committee. In May 1984, it was restored to the township. It was changed to a town in August 1984 and merged with Junqi Township in December 1996. It is still called the old town.
