What is it like to study environmental design?

I am a senior majoring in environmental design, and I still like the environmental design major.

I studied environmental design at Jiaotong University for four years. After studying and living for more than a year in my freshman year, I found that it is up to you to decide whether you want to suffer or not. Environmental design is a good major, but it also includes many other things. Professional knowledge, it can be said that the various design majors are indistinguishable, so learning environmental design well requires you to learn a lot. For example, you also need to understand some visual transmission, and you need to know dots, lines, surfaces, color matching, etc.

When I first entered college, I imagined a relaxed and happy college life, but I soon became disillusioned. If I want to study well, I have to work hard. Maybe I am stupid and have to spend more time. Use your energy and energy to complete some homework. In some subjects, you really have to stay up late and stay up all night to complete it. For example, the design basics in the first semester include plane, three-dimensional, and color composition. This subject was not taken very seriously from the beginning, so I stayed up late to catch up on homework. It was really hard at the time, and later I didn’t get a very good grade in this course. I also stayed up late during the ergonomics and architectural model classes in the second semester, but because I paid more sincerely, I didn't feel tortured but rather immersed in them. During the summer, I stayed in school to learn software, such as CAD, 3dMax, Sketch Master, and other professional drawing software. I have returned to the dormitory at 2 a.m. several times in the past few days, staring at the computer every day to study. When doing homework, it was really painful when the software crashed in the early stage, and the whole person crashed. Now I have become accustomed to crashes. The reason why I stayed up late was not because the teacher refused to let me go, but because I had to make the drawings. I didn’t have to sign up for the software class. I started taking it in my sophomore year because I wanted to learn it earlier so that I could learn more about the industry. It can be said that it is true to be tired, and it is also true to be satisfied.

As for schools that run construction sites, it seems that there are no such classes, but I heard from the teacher that if you want to engage in this field of work in the future, you should go there. Our school's environmental design will have a practical class, which is equivalent to traveling. , I will visit some famous buildings for about a month. I think that no matter what, I have to run around more and take a look. Whether it is indoors or outdoors, I need to understand the whole process of a building from scratch to beauty. . ?

In short, I think that no matter what you study, you have to pay a lot of effort. After all, the knowledge span between high school and college is very large. Whether college life is torturous or not mainly depends on yourself. No matter what major you are in, you are interested in this major. The greater your interest and the stronger your desire to acquire knowledge, the less painful it will be to go to college.
