Where is the best place to travel from Beijing during the Mid-Autumn Festival?

This year’s Mid-Autumn Festival is in late September. Let me recommend a few seasonal travel routes~

Route 1: Watch the sea and eat seafood

Every year Mid-to-late September is the season when seafood is plentiful. There are several sea areas around Beijing, such as Beidaihe, Nandaihe, Changli, Tanggu, etc. It is not clear whether these sea areas are real seas or Bohai Bay, but it is a fact that the beaches here are dirty and the seafood is sky-high. I personally recommend Changdao County, an island not far from Beijing. Changdao is the only island county in Shandong. The county government is on the island. It is an island far away from the mainland. There are several small islands around it, which makes up Changdao County. It is a real island. Changdao County is rich in marine tourism resources. The beaches are very clean and there are many things to do, including beaches and mountain climbing. There is also a unique fisherman's house on the island. It costs about a hundred yuan, three meals are included, and you can also go fishing with the boss and his family. It is very convenient to go to Changdao County from Beijing. There are trains from Beijing to Yantai that leave early in the morning and arrive at night. After arriving in Yantai early in the morning, you can take a bus to the pier, and then change to the ferry from Yantai to Changdao. The ferry takes about 50 minutes to reach Changdao Port. After two days of wandering on the island, we returned to Beijing on the third day.

Route 2: Go to the grassland to gallop

The grassland in autumn also has beautiful scenery that is not inferior to that in summer. The whole area north of Beijing is covered with grassland, including Zhangbei Grassland Road, Fengning Bashang, and Mulan Paddock. If you are planning a two-day trip, you can go to Fengning Bashang, leave Beijing from Huairou and enter Fengning, and continue north to Fengning Bashang. There is a palace of the Great Khan in Datan Town on Fengning Bashang, which is worth a visit. The next day, we returned to Beijing via the same route. If you plan a three-day trip, I recommend Mulan Paddock. Mulan Paddock is located at the northernmost tip of Hebei. Compared with the grasslands in Fengning and Zhangbei, it is still a forest farm, so the landscape is richer, with lakes and colorful forests in autumn. Generally, when returning from Mulan Paddock, you will take the Yuda Highway, which will also pass by Fengning Bashang and the Great Khan's Palace, so you can play together. It should be reminded that the grassland route will be crowded during the short and long holidays, and the accommodation capacity is limited at that time, so be sure to book accommodation before going.

Route 3: Climb high and look far

Autumn is also suitable for climbing high and looking far. When climbing, there is no heat in summer and it is more comfortable. Beijing has two routes with mountains and rivers, which are suitable for family travel. One is located in Mentougou, with National Highway 108 and the Yongding River running along it. On both sides are natural scenic spots such as Shibatan Lake in West Beijing, as well as ancient towns in West Beijing such as Sanjiadian and Zhaitang. The other one is located in Qianjiadian, Yanqing. The river flowing from Baihebao Reservoir flows in the mountains. There are many natural scenic spots on both sides.
