Walk into the fire and water cave

The same source of fire and water, also known as fire cave and fire river, is a natural landscape where water and fire coexist. Located in Guanziling Scenic Area, Baihe, Tainan City, Taiwan Province Province, southwest of the pillow foothills, near the Liuzhongxi fault, on the oblique axis stone wall of Shangling. The natural gas emitted from the wall can keep the ignited flame from being extinguished, and at the same time, there is spring water flowing out from the gap of the cliff wall, which is smokeless and flameless, forming a special landscape with fire in water and water in fire. It has been maintained since it was discovered by the Zen master of Baihe Daxian Temple in the 40th year of Kangxi (170 1). 1964 before the Baihe earthquake, there was always a concentrated fire. After the earthquake, flames emerged from several pores, which were weak, just like flowers floating on the water. During the Japanese occupation of Taiwan Province, villagers carved a statue named Fire and Water God or Immortal God above the fire for worship. 1993, tainan county government listed the homology of fire and water as the spiritual symbol of the county, and took its inclusive meaning to reorganize local vendors into shop streets.
