Ministry of Culture and Tourism: Total domestic tourism arrivals in the first half of 2022 will be 1.455 billion

China News Service, July 15. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism released domestic tourism data for the first half of 2022 on the 15th. According to the statistical results of domestic tourism sample surveys, in the first half of 2022, the total number of domestic tourism trips was 1.455 billion, a decrease of 22.2% from the previous year.

Among them, urban residents made 1.091 billion domestic trips, a decrease of 16.6%; rural residents made 364 million domestic trips, a decrease of 35.4%. Looking at each quarter, there were 830 million domestic tourist arrivals in the first quarter, a year-on-year decrease of 19.0%; and 625 million domestic tourist arrivals in the second quarter, a year-on-year decrease of 26.2%.

Domestic tourism revenue (total tourism consumption) was 1.17 trillion yuan, a decrease of 28.2% from the previous year. Among them, urban residents’ tourism consumption was 0.94 trillion yuan, a decrease of 26.7%; rural residents’ tourism consumption was 0.23 trillion yuan, a decrease of 33.8%.
