Where is the Sai Han Dam?

Sai Han Dam is located in the north of Weichang Manchu and Mongolian Autonomous County, Chengde City, Hebei Province.

Historically, Saihanba is a natural garden with abundant aquatic plants, dense forests and abundant animals. It was called "Li Qian Pine Forest" in Liao and Jin Dynasties. This used to be the place where the emperor hunted. During the Qing dynasty, due to corruption, financial decadence, internal troubles and foreign invasion, the forest vegetation was destroyed for two years. Saihanba area degenerated into plateau and barren hills.

Saihanba's famous scenic spots include Saihanba National Forest Park, Saihanba Grassland and Qixing Lake Wetland Park.

Sai Han Dam is located at the junction of Inner Mongolia Plateau and the northern mountainous area of Hebei Province. Its landform is between the lava plateau in Inner Mongolia and the northern mountainous area of Hebei Province. It is mainly a plateau platform with an altitude of1500-2067m and an area of 20029 hectares.

1. Saihanba National Forest Park:

Located in Bashang area, Chengde City, Hebei Province, it is a part of Mulan paddock, a famous royal hunting garden in Qing Dynasty. The total area of forest park is 410.06 million mu, including forest landscape10.06 million mu, grassland landscape of 200,000 mu and forest coverage rate of 75.2%.

There are six landscape types in the planning of the whole park, which is known as the "source of water" and belongs to the national first-class tourism resources and national AAAAA-level tourist attractions.

2. Saihanba Grassland:

Located in the northernmost part of Weichang Manchu and Mongolian Autonomous County in Chengde City, it is connected with Keshiketeng Banner in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia and Duolun County in Xilin Gol League. This is a place composed of grasslands and forests. It is a national 5A-level tourist attraction.
