What tourist attractions are there in Wuxi? 2017 Wuxi Travel Guide
At this time, the azaleas are almost in bloom. It's time to visit Wuxi. Even if it's not for those flowers, there are other reasons to go to Wuxi, such as Huishan Temple, Chicken Farm Garden, and Chinese Rhododendron Garden, all of which are suitable to go to.
If Jiangnan is compared to a collection of poems, Wuxi is undoubtedly the most beautiful one among them. This small town in the south of the Yangtze River with outstanding people hides countless histories and stories, beauty and sadness. Since ancient times, countless literati, emperors and generals have been fascinated by it.
Huishan Temple
In March, Wuxi is immersed in colorful spring scenery. Early in the morning, we arrived at Huishan Ancient Town. At this time, the ancient town is full of tourists, and the whole old street is very lively.
As you walk into the scenic spot from Hengjie, the sun shines through the tall and lush old trees on both sides of the street, and the old street presents mottled light and shadow. Antique houses and shops stand on both sides of the streets, and ancient stone monuments and arches bear witness to the millennium of the ancient town.
Our trip started from Xihui Park. After entering the park, I looked up and saw Huishan Temple, a thousand-year-old temple.
Among the historic sites in Huishan Ancient Town, Huishan Temple is considered one of the elders. Du Mu, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, once said: "There are 480 temples in the Southern Dynasties, and there are many towers in the mist." In the Southern Dynasty, due to the prosperity of Buddhism, many emperors promoted Buddhism and built temples and towers. Huishan Temple was born in that distant era.
Walking in the park, the scenery is picturesque and full of spring. We passed the Guhua Gate, the King Kong Hall and the Golden Lotus Bridge built in the Song Dynasty, and also saw the Royal Stele Pavilion. In the pavilion stands the imperial stele of Emperor Qianlong, which is carved with exquisite cloud and dragon patterns and Emperor Qianlong's poems.
Long went to the south of the Yangtze River several times and had a special liking for Huishan Temple. At that time, the country was in its heyday. Facing the beautiful scenery of Jiangnan, "Old Man of Shiquan" is naturally prosperous and has left many masterpieces.
Looking for Huishan Temple in Jiuchong, Liang recalls the Ya Datong years.
It can be seen that the color is very lively, but Linquanzhen is natural.
If you feel happy about youth, you will be in the picture, you will try Zen.
Listen to Ansong’s quiet bamboo stove, then draw a circle with the cooking cloud pool.
The most beautiful Huishan Temple is the Main Hall deep in the temple. Inside the temple, an ancient ginkgo tree over 600 years old provides shade for the entire temple. Spring in summer is full of greenery. When autumn comes, the ground is golden. A legendary turquoise bed rests peacefully in an ancient pine tree.
In the main hall, the monks were concentrating on chanting the Buddha's name. The eminent Buddhist monks at this moment, the towering ancient trees, and the Buddha's repeated incense all make this quiet little temple full of Zen and spirituality.
A temple full of history and dynasty stories. Walking in the temple feels like stepping back in time, and those characters and stories keep reappearing before your eyes. Therefore, I am even more impressed by Wuxi’s “outstanding people”.
After walking through the quiet paths and deep courtyards, we came to the famous "Second Spring in the World". I saw a deep well in an ancient pavilion, which contained water from two springs. On the wall of the pavilion is embedded the inscription "The Second Spring in the World" written by Zhao Mengxu, a calligrapher of the Yuan Dynasty. Lu Yu, the tea sage of the Tang Dynasty, tasted famous teas from famous springs all over the world and believed that "Kangwang Spring in Lushan Mountain is the best, and Shiquan in Huishan Mountain is the second." Since then, Huishan Spring has enjoyed the reputation of "the second spring in the world".
Thus, tea spring culture has become a pearl in Huishan culture. During the tour, the staff of the scenic spot also performed a tea ceremony. Several women in ancient costumes are focused on burning incense, playing the piano, and making tea in Huishan. This ancient tea culture, like the spring water in the second spring, trickles and flows and has been passed down for thousands of years.
When we were tired, we had tea and snacks under an old tree near the meditation room. The fragrance of mountain oil cake and the fragrance of tea are mixed together, leaving an endless aftertaste. At this time, the breeze blows, the bell rings, and a sip of tea is really pleasant.
As for our mood at this time, the great poet Su Shi had already felt it more than 900 years ago. At that time, he was an official in Jiangnan. He loved Huishan, climbed the mountain many times, and tasted tea
Sent to Changyuan
When it comes to going to Jiangnan, we have to talk about the two emperors Qianlong and Kangxi. In this water town in the south of the Yangtze River, the two emperors of Kangxi and Gansu respected Huishan Ancient Town very much and stopped here many times during their six southern tours. The two emperors also personally inscribed plaques titled "Mountain Creek Light" and "Tamawei Gold Burning". Long was so full of praise for Jichang Garden that he even copied a garden based on it in the Summer Palace in Beijing, bringing the elegance and charm of Jiangnan gardens to the north.
Walking into Xihui Scenic Area, I quickly came to the entrance of the airport garden. The door is inconspicuous, but once you walk in, you will see another world: exquisite water management, superb stone stacking, washed architecture, exquisite stele corridors, calligraphy, and the most exquisite thing is the ingenious "borrowed scenery" - that is, the use of spatial perspective Relationship, borrowing the scenery outside the garden into the garden.
Walking in the garden, you can see distant mountains, ancient temples and other scenery outside the garden from multiple angles, which visually greatly expands the area of ??the garden. Because the scenery everywhere is well-proportioned and multi-dimensional, no matter how many tourists there are, it seems to be hidden in the garden and does not feel crowded. There are natural, harmonious and lively mountains and forests everywhere. Walking around, you can't help but admire the beauty of the gardens and the wisdom of ancient gardeners.
Walking in Jichang Garden, the sun shines through the trees, casting patches of light and shadow on the garden. The bells on the distant mountains echoed in my ears. Strange rocks, woods, stone bridges, and towers complement each other beautifully.
Bursts of birdsong bring more agility and energy. The spring breeze blew away a few leaves from the lake. In the water, goldfish of various colors were swimming, some of them quite fat. I don’t know if they live here all year round and have spirituality.
Scenic area staff in ancient costumes accompanied us to visit the park and enjoy the scenery. At this moment, everything seems to have returned thousands of years ago. This beautiful woman in Hanfu is walking in the garden, like a garden dream, as if traveling through time and space. For a moment, I couldn't help but be in a trance. Are we back to ancient times, or are the ancients coming to the present?
Chinese Rhododendron Garden
Leave Jichang Garden and return to the old streets of the ancient town. Just a short walk to Xihui Park, China Rhododendron Park hides another magical world.
Azalea is the city flower of Wuxi. Wang Wei, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, once said: "Ten thousand valleys with trees reaching the sky, thousands of peaks with cuckoos singing." Only when I came to Huishan did I realize that there are so many colors and types of azaleas. Thousands of rhododendrons create a colorful world. If spring is a palette, then this beautiful rhododendron is undoubtedly the most beautiful paint in it.
After leaving the garden, we strolled to Xiahetang in the ancient town, where towering ancient trees on both sides cast a green shade. On the river, an ancient stone bridge connects the upper and lower ponds, and a small boat is moored quietly in the water. Many Wuxi people are chatting and drinking tea by the river, which is full of leisure.
Not far from Longtou River, it connects to the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. Standing on the stone bridge, I imagined the spectacular scene when Qianlong and Kangxi arrived at Huishan by boat. Nowadays, it only takes five hours from Saibei to Jiangnan. The gorgeous dragon boats have long been replaced by high-speed rail. Hundreds of years of light and shadow, surging and changing the world. Jiangnan seems to be a dream that has lasted for thousands of years. Here, there are eternal memories and emotions of the Chinese people.
