In order to obtain a B- 1, B-2 or B 1/B2 visa, you should prove that:

You have a compelling reason to go to America.

You are fully capable of doing what you said in America.

Your situation in China or another country (whatever it is) is stable enough to attract you to return after your stay in the United States.

The time of your visit to the United States is clear and short-term.

You have enough funds to pay your expenses in America.

Note: According to Article 2 14 (b) of the Amendment to the US Immigration and Nationality Act 1952, any applicant who cannot prove to the visa interviewer that he has no immigration tendency through the above factors cannot obtain a visa.

As the situation of each applicant is different, we have not specified what kind of supporting documents should be provided for the above points. The following suggestions are helpful to previous visa applicants.

Work certificate: (1) a letter of introduction issued by the work unit, stating the applicant's job position, salary and working hours; (ii) Payroll of the applicant in the last three months.

Bank credit certificate: the monthly statement of the bank account in the past year or the deposit and withdrawal record of the funds in the passbook (the single deposit document is not helpful for visa application). Please note that the visa officer needs to evaluate your personal financial situation, so the statement of the company account is not enough as proof.

Evidence of ownership of property such as houses and cars.

Proof of kinship in China, such as marriage certificate, household registration book, etc.

Spouses or minors can provide the documents of the other spouse or parents as proof. But they also need to provide documents that can prove their relationship, including marriage certificate or birth certificate.

Proof of travel to other countries, including old passports and photos.

Visa applicants visiting relatives and friends in the United States

All the above documents are recommended to "tourists".

A document describing the identity of the respondent in the United States and his historical record of returning to China-for example, a copy of his passport and American visa (or green card), and a copy of the entry and exit stamp stamped by the customs when traveling to and from China.

A company brochure or sales brochure explaining what products your company produces or sells.

Invitation letters from companies, institutions or individuals visiting the United States.

Proof of business dealings between your company and the American company or institution that issued the invitation letter, including a copy of the contract or other agreement signed with the American company, as well as relevant information of machinery, software or other equipment that needs to be inspected, tested or purchased in the United States, such as user manuals or product catalogs.

Note: the above list is not exhaustive, and showing the above documents during the interview does not guarantee that you will get a visa. You must be prepared in advance so that you can reasonably explain to the visa officer the purpose of your coming to the United States and the reason for your return to China during the interview, and produce relevant evidence to prove your statement.

Visitors to the United States can visit relatives (or travel) with visas. B-2 visa is applicable to the following activities:

Sightseeing.

Visit relatives and friends.

Receive treatment.

Attend meetings of industry or social organizations.

Participate in non-professional music, sports or similar activities.
