Baiyun Mountain Park belongs to the transitional climate zone between subtropical zone and warm temperate zone, and the vegetation is a typical transitional community between north and south plants in the deciduous broad-leaved forest belt in the south warm temperate zone and the evergreen broad-leaved forest belt in the north subtropical zone in China. The composition of forest plants is mainly temperate flora in northern China. Due to the complex terrain and great altitude difference, there are alpine flora populations in central China and southwest China.

Complex geographical conditions have given birth to a wide variety of animal and plant resources. At present, there are vascular plants 199 1 species, belonging to 742 genera of 168 family, including 290 species of timber plants, 98 species of starch plants, 43 species of fiber plants/kloc-0, 97 species of wild fruits and 0/68 species of tanning plants. In addition, the region is also rich in economic fungi such as Hericium erinaceus velvet antler (coral bacteria), Ganoderma lucidum and Polyporus, which can be called "treasure house of green plants".

Forest vegetation is divided into three vegetation types and nine forest types: deciduous broad-leaved mixed forest, coniferous mixed forest and coniferous forest. Because of the great difference in mountain height, the soil climate is obviously different, and the vertical distribution of forest vegetation types is obvious: at an altitude of 900 m-1200 m, it is a low mountain deciduous forest belt composed of Quercus variabilis, Populus davidiana and shrubs and a low mountain coniferous forest belt composed of Pinus tabulaeformis; The altitude 1200m- 1800m is a broad-leaved forest belt composed of oak and miscellaneous species, and a deciduous broad-leaved forest belt composed of Quercus acutissima and Quercus acutissima. At an altitude of 1800-2200m, it is a coniferous and broadleaved mixed forest belt composed of Pinus armandii and Betula platyphylla, a subalpine coniferous forest belt and subalpine shrub meadow composed of Betula platyphylla, Abies fargesii and Pinus armandii.
