What is oak cowhide?

Oak cowhide is a flat substitute for horse hip leather. Only a part of the skin on the horse's ass, tanned skin, is called horse's ass skin. Horseshoe skin is the designated leather of many royal families, which is particularly delicate and elastic, tough and wear-resistant, and not easy to leave scars. However, the production is very complicated and time-consuming, which requires a tanning process as long as six months, and the yield of horse hip skin is scarce. Oak cowhide can be used as a flat substitute for low-yield horse hip leather. Oak cowhide is Japanese cowhide and one of the top leathers in the world. After tanning and fatliquoring, the soft leather fiber has compact structure, small extensibility, good formability, plump surface, elasticity and no greasy feeling.
