Where is Su Wu's shepherd's place now?

Su Wu, regarded as a representative of loyal ministers for thousands of years, lived as a herdsman in Xiongnu for many years, but he still did not change his original intention and yearned for the return. Facing the threats and inducements from Xiongnu, he was fearless, preferring to herd sheep rather than be a slave. Fortunately, Su Wu finally came back. We know that Su Wu is herding sheep in Beihai, so where is the Beihai where he is herding sheep now? Two thousand years later, can you still find the place where Su Wu used to herd sheep?

The song "Su Wu Shepherd" sings: Su Wu keeps Hu Jie. Ice and snow, 19 years of poverty, longing for snow, longing for blankets, herding sheep by the North Sea ... where is Beihai now? There are two versions. One theory refers to Lake Baikal in southern Siberia of the former Soviet Union. Another way of saying it refers to Baiting Sea in Minqin County, Gansu Province. Personally, I prefer the second one because:

1. Minqin has the former site of Suwu Temple.

In Minqin County Records, there is a record of "Suwu Temple Terrace". There is an ancient stone tablet on the platform, and the big word on it is "Suwu Shepherd's Office in Langjiang, Hanzhong". Although it no longer exists, the Suwu Temple here was built according to the legend of Suwu Mountain, where Suwu shepherds.

Mr. Ren Jizhou, an academician of China Academy of Sciences and an authoritative expert on grassland ecology in China, found that Beihai is located in Minqin County, Wuwei City, Gansu Province after years of investigation and research. Mr. Ren and two scholars, Zhang and Chen Zhong of Lanzhou University, also wrote a paper "A Study on the Hometown of the Shepherd in Suwu, Beihai", which was published publicly to prove it.

In 2003, Mr. Ren learned that there was a Suwu Temple and a Suwu Mountain in Minqin County, Wuwei City. He believes that an ancient remote place like Minqin will not build a Suwu Temple out of thin air, let alone a fake Suwu Mountain.

2. Beihai is probably the transliteration of Baiting Sea simplified as "White Sea".

On the map of Fan Zhen County, Minqin County, published before liberation, there is also a spot of "Baiting Sea". Beihai is probably the transliteration of Baiting Sea simplified as "White Sea". Because the pronunciation of the words "Bei" and "Bai" in the northwest dialect is very similar, they change from one word to another.

I remember that when I was in primary school, I only heard of "Driving to Liangshan" and never read a book. One day, a female classmate tested me and asked me which word "forced" was. Because in our hometown dialect, the pronunciation of "forced" and "north" is the same, so I answered "north" and thought it was "going north to Liangshan".

3. There is a record of grazing in Su Wu in Minqin County Records.

The Records of Minqin County published by Taiwan Province Wencheng Publishing House recorded the Suwu Mountain and Suwu Temple, which proved that Minqin was the hometown of Beihai where Su Wu herded sheep. Among the "important places" of Minqin, there is also a record of "Suwu Mountain, 30 miles southeast of Minqin County, which is said to be the place where Hanzhong Langjiang grazed Suwu".

4. The ancient poem describes the place where Su Wu herded sheep.

Going to towns and counties, fluttering and looking forward to the festival. Whip Wuwei, sunset Lintao.

This is a poem by Gao Shi, a poet in the prosperous Tang Dynasty. Among them, "The Vast" describes the poet's starting point-the vast water potential and vast grassland in the area of "Baiting Sea" in Minqin. "Xiexi" refers to Su Wu Temple.

In the article "Su Wu Temple", I wrote: "Although our emissary Su Wu is gone, this temple is still there, and these trees are still there. Wild geese call the moon through the clouds, and goats are not grazing. " ..... This poem not only describes the ancient Suwu Temple in detail, but also clearly points out the natural environment and specific location of Suwu's herding, "Saicaoyan" and "Longshang". Longshang is in Gansu.

5. Folklore more accurately shows that Su Wu herded sheep in Minqin.

In Minqin County, Gansu Province, there used to be a township called Yang Lu Township, which was named after Suwu shepherds often took this road. There is also a village in Yang Lu Township called Su Wu Village, and there is also a mountain called Suwu Mountain. There used to be a Suwu Temple on this mountain, which was later destroyed. In memory of Su Wu, Yang Lu Township and Xinhe Township were merged into Su Wu Township.

The above five points are all about the North Sea where Su Wu herded sheep, which is now Minqin, Gansu.

Although there are still doubts about Su Wu's shepherd land at present, in 19, Su Wu's shepherd, faced with the threat of Xiongnu, would rather die than surrender, and suffered a lot, and experienced the tribulation of "guarding sheep in the Han Dynasty, eating hard, and losing his reputation". Never defile this festival.

The reason why Emperor Xuandi of Emperor Gaozu listed Su Wu as one of the eleven outstanding figures in Qilin Pavilion was to show Su Wu's moral integrity. Now, both the naming of Suwu Mountain and Murize, and the construction of Suwu Temple and Sugong Temple reflect the admiration and reverence of Minqin people for Su Wu, an outstanding historical figure.
