The whole temple is made of wood, with 40 halls and pavilions. In fact, the floating temple is not big. The most amazing thing is that it depends on the tenon structure, embedded in the cliff, and will not fall.

Hangkong Temple was founded in the Northern Wei Dynasty with a history of 1500 years. It is the earliest and best preserved high-altitude wooden cliff building in China.

Pavilions and pavilions are connected by plank roads. Although the temples are small, they are unique. Li Bai, a poet, was drunk and spectacular, and Xu Xiake praised him as a great sight on earth.

5. City Wall Belt Park-Datong Ancient City Wall

brief introduction

Datong has a long history of building a city. As early as the capital of Tuoba's family in the Northern Wei Dynasty, a large-scale city had been built. In the early Ming Dynasty, because it was a Pingfan of Gyeonggi, its military position was very dangerous. So in the fifth year of Hongwu (A.D. 1372), Xu Da, the general, built on the basis of the old city, forming the Datong town that the world sees today. The final Datong town is roughly square. Although the wall of Datong is tall, firm and beautifully built, it was destroyed due to war, historical nature and man-made reasons, but by the end of 1980s, more than 70% of the complete adobe city had been preserved. After 2008, when repairing the city wall, the original system and original technology were adopted to bake bricks outside the adobe city wall, so that everyone could see a relatively complete Datong city wall shape. Datong city wall is not only magnificent during the day, but also can appreciate its colorful and dazzling temperament when you look far away or climb the city wall at night. In the circular park under the city wall, under the greenwood tree is full of birds and flowers. Stepping into it, it is like a lifetime ago to remember the past.

9. Datong Museum

brief introduction

Datong Museum, with its unique external design and exquisite internal display, is a rare boutique among the second-class museums in China, which is well worth seeing.

The exterior design of the museum inherits the accumulation of Datong's history and culture, combines the dragon culture and grotto culture, and is consistent with the typical geomorphological features of the volcanic group near Datong, which embodies the regional cultural characteristics of "the blending of Hu and Han". The museum tries to reflect and express the conflict and collision between the two cultures at a deeper level through the typical depiction of the special-shaped architectural space with rising momentum. Two arc-shaped bodies hover around the central hall, forming a radial spiral structure, and the ridges on the bodies strengthen the modeling of the building. The two ends branched from different ridge lines are staggered up and down, forming a rich body combination. The opening at the end faces different urban directions, introduces urban landscape, and forms the line of sight connection between the interior of the building and the city.

The external form of architecture also affects the formation of internal space. Curved figures are composed of grotto openings with different sections, forming a special-shaped spatial form with tension at the top of the exhibition hall. On the second and third floors of the central hall, dynamic arc air connection bridges are set up. The southwest side of the hall is connected with the underground public service space, and the central part is equipped with large-scale exhibits in combination with the exhibition design, forming a magnificent internal space.
