A 500-word essay on a trip to Xi’an

This summer vacation, my parents decided to take me to travel to Xi'an. I have read about the ancient capital Xi'an from a book a long time ago. It is a famous cultural city with a long history. 13 historical dynasties once established their capital here and there are a large number of historical monuments. It witnessed the prosperity of the ancient Tang Dynasty and the Xi'an Incident in modern times that led the Kuomintang to join hands in resisting Japan. It is the central starting point of the modern Silk Road and has rich cultural heritage both in ancient and modern times.

I was very excited the night before departure. I didn’t sleep a wink the whole night. I was full of expectations for this trip. Early the next morning, we packed our bags and headed to Xi'an. After more than ten hours of long driving, we finally arrived in the ancient capital of Xi'an. After arranging our accommodation, we hurried to the famous Muslim Street. The name of Huimin Street is indeed well-deserved. The streets are crowded with people, and the air is filled with a strong smell of mutton. Hui people snacks are everywhere on both sides: mutton steamed buns, mutton steamed buns, mutton... it is dizzying; Lao Baijia, Lao Ma's House, Lao Hai's House... Under the gold-lettered signs stood enthusiastic Hui people wearing little white hats, shouting loudly, and every shop was full of diners. We went to the famous Jia San Guan soup dumplings. There was not a single empty seat in the three-story restaurant, and the seats were filled with guests waiting to dine. We finally found an empty seat on the third floor and sat down. The waiter quickly served us the delicacies we ordered. The soup dumplings were so juicy that the juice shot out like a water gun with a small bite; The lamb chops were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, without a trace of odor... Xi'an's delicacy left a strong first impression on me!

The next day, we went to visit the Qin Shihuang Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. The Terracotta Warriors and Horses are known as the eighth wonder of the world and were buried with Qin Shihuang. Since the excavations in the 1970s, three pits have been developed for tourists to visit. People often say that underground cultural relics should be viewed in Shaanxi for this reason.

Pit No. 1 is the largest and most complete array of terracotta warriors excavated so far. The terracotta warriors and horses inside have different expressions and lifelike shapes: the mighty general warriors, the natural warriors holding weapons, the serious chariot warriors, the standardized The archer figurines are all lifelike. A huge military formation is available, and thousands of warriors seem to be ready to jump out and fight bravely at any time. I can't help but admire the creativity of the ancient Chinese people.

Pit No. 3 is open while being excavated. I was fortunate enough to see the on-site operations of archaeologists restoring the terracotta warriors and horses, which gave me a lot of knowledge.

The short three-day trip to Xi'an passed quickly. Although it was not long, Xi'an has left a deep impression on me with its delicious food and historical monuments. Once again, I used travel to learn about the ancient capital Xi'an.

I think this is the truth of "reading thousands of books and traveling thousands of miles"!
