Daqing Petroleum Science and Technology Museum is also called "underground palace", which means underground palace of petroleum. It is located in the exhibition room of Daqing Oilfield Development Science Experiment in Central Street, ranghulu district. It was officially opened to the public on September 6th 1995, and decided by the State Education Commission, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, National Cultural Heritage Administration, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the General Political Department of the People's Liberation Army that the museum was designated as the "National Patriotism Education Base for Primary and Secondary Schools".

Now the museum covers an area of more than 7,000 square meters, with a building area of 1000 square meters. 1995 was rebuilt in September, and a chemical exhibition hall and dinosaur fossils were added. The museum records the present situation of oil and gas exploration, the glorious history of oil field development and oil production in Daqing Oilfield with a large number of objects, words and photos, and presents complex and profound oil science and oil production technology directly to the audience with the help of modern scientific and technological means. The museum has set up 35 electric models, showing 1280 samples of cores, fossils and minerals, 527 other objects, 282 technical charts, 2 large and medium-sized electronic screens and 25 models.

A model of the underground reservoir of the oil field was also built in the museum. Visitors can watch the oil storage situation and the brief process of crude oil exposure, and all kinds of complicated processes can be seen at a glance.

The total area of Sandy Botanical Garden is 1 1,000 mu. It is surrounded by water on three sides. There are many plants in the garden, especially the old elm. We invited forestry experts from China Academy of Sciences and Provincial Forestry Department to inspect the ancient elm trees here. According to textual research, most of the elms here have a history of one hundred years, and there are hundreds of them, which is a wonderful bonsai natural root carving garden.

Light of oil

The large metal sculpture in front is the famous "Light of Oil". It is tall and striking. Located at the intersection of Zhongqi Road, Sada Road and Calgary Road in Saertu District. Built in July 1987. With the symbolic means of modern consciousness, it shows the will, strength and momentum of Daqing and even human beings to conquer nature.
