As of 2065438+February 24, 2009, foreigners under any of the following circumstances can travel to China without a visa:
(1) visa-free transit
1, 24-hour port transit visa-free
Foreigners who transit from China to a third country or region on an international plane, ship or train with a joint ticket and stay in China for no more than 24 hours and do not leave Hong Kong may be exempted from the visa.
2.72-hour airport transit visa-free
Citizens of the following countries, with their valid international travel documents and joint air tickets with confirmed dates and seats to a third country (region) within 72 hours, will fly from Beijing Capital Airport, Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, Chengdu Shuangliu Airport, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, Shenyang Taoxian International Airport, Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport, Xi 'an Xianyang International Airport, Guilin Liangjiang International Airport, kunming changshui international airport, Xiamen Gao Qi International Airport, Wuhan Tianhe International Airport, Tianjin Binhai International Airport and Harbin Taiping.
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Russia, Britain, Ireland, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, United States.
3. 144 hour transit visa-free
Visa-free conditions: from 20 16, 1 year 10, citizens from 5 1 countries (the same as the list of countries where the 72-hour transit visa-free policy is applicable) will travel to a third country/region with their valid international travel documents and the date and seat determined within 144 hours. You can enter and leave Shanghai Sea (Shanghai Port International Passenger Transport Center and Wusongkou International Cruise Port), Lu (Shanghai Railway Station), Airport Port (Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Hongqiao International Airport) or Nanjing Airport (Nanjing Lukou International Airport) and Hangzhou Airport (Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport) without a visa, and stay in the administrative areas of Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang for 144 hours.
Matters needing attention: When qualified foreigners go through the formalities of plane, train and passenger ship to Shanghai or Nanjing Lukou Airport in Jiangsu Province or Xiaoshan Airport in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, they only need to show their valid entry and exit certificates and the third country/region connecting ticket with the date and seat confirmed within 144 hours to the vehicle attendant, and the person in charge of the vehicle shall report to the border inspection station before arriving at the above-mentioned port as required. Foreigners arriving at ports and frontier inspection stations shall be issued with temporary entry permits after examination and approval.
(2) Go to the Pearl River Delta and Hainan Island.
1. Foreigners who hold ordinary passports of countries that have diplomatic relations with China and are already in Hong Kong and Macao can enter the Pearl River Delta region of Guangdong through travel agencies legally registered in Hong Kong and Macao (referring to the administrative regions under the jurisdiction of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Zhaoqing and Huizhou) and stay visa-free for less than 6 days. The above policies also apply to the above-mentioned groups traveling to Shantou, as long as they leave Shantou directly and their activities are within the administrative area of Shantou.
2. Citizens of the following countries who hold ordinary passports and are registered in Hainan with the approval of China National Tourism Administration and travel in Hainan for less than 15 days can be exempted from visas: the United States, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, Germany, Britain, France, Austria, Italy, Russia, Switzerland, Sweden and Italy. Among them, Korean, German and Russian delegations with more than 2 people (including 2 people) can stay for 2 1 day.
(3) Citizens of Singapore, Brunei and Japan.
Singaporeans, Brunei and Japanese citizens who hold ordinary passports to come to Chinese mainland for tourism, business, visiting relatives and friends or crossing the border for less than 15 days are exempt from visas when entering China, which is open to foreigners. However, in the following cases, the visa must be completed in advance:
1. The estimated stay in China for traveling, doing business, visiting relatives and friends with ordinary passports exceeds 15 days;
2. Go to China for study, work, residence, official visit and interview with an ordinary passport;
3. Holding Japanese diplomatic and official passports.
(4) Holders of valid APEC business travel cards.
Hold a valid APEC business travel card. The APEC business travel card is equivalent to a five-year multiple visa. Cardholders can enter the country multiple times with a travel card and a valid passport consistent with the card, and each stay time ranges from 60 days to 90 days.
(5) Hold valid permanent residence permits for China people and foreigners.
(6) Holding a valid alien residence permit issued by the public security organ of China.
Foreigners studying, working or working in China and foreign resident journalists must apply to the public security organs for foreigners' residence after entering the country. During the validity period of the residence permit, foreigners can stay in China and enter and leave the country for multiple times without having to apply for another visa.
(7) Tongan and Ecuadorian citizens holding ordinary passports who want to enter, leave or transit Chinese mainland for no more than 30 days from the date of entry may be exempted from visas.
(8) From May 28th, 20 15, 10 ASEAN countries (Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Singapore, Brunei, Philippines) tour groups (two or more persons) will be organized and received by qualified travel agencies recognized by the tourism authorities in Guilin, Guangxi, and can enter and leave Guilin Airport as a whole.
(9) Bilateral agreements
According to the bilateral agreements signed or reached between China and relevant countries, some countries that meet certain conditions can travel to China without visas.

X 1 visa: issued to those who study in China for a long time (180 days or more).
