Where is the capital of Iran?

Tehran, the capital of Iran, is located in the north-central part of Iran, at the southern foot of the Elbers Mountains on the northern edge of the vast Iranian plateau. The urban area is distributed on the plain, and the eastern, western and northern suburbs are surrounded by Elbers mountains and arc hills.

Tehran is a city with a long history. As early as the early 9th century, it became a residential area, a suburb of Rey, a famous city at that time, and also the foothold of the Silk Road, a famous trade road in the ancient world. In the13rd century, Rey was destroyed by a powerful foreign invasion, and then Tehran took its place. Because it is the intersection of the east-west avenue in northern Iran and the avenue leading to the south, it has become a medium-sized city and trade center in a short time. A remarkable feature of Tehran is that all kinds of flowers bloom all year round, especially the roses that Persians love everywhere. In front of and behind the house, on both sides of the road, in the street garden with fountains, flowers can be seen everywhere. Residents love to plant, raise and enjoy flowers. Many well-off families have opened a garden at their doorstep, planted flowers and formed a small garden. Therefore, some people humorously call Tehran "Flower City".

The climate in Tehran is roughly the same as that in Beijing, but drier. Spring and autumn are the best tourist seasons, and summer is too hot, which will exceed 40℃ and the temperature difference between day and night is large.

As early as 5,000 years ago, Iran created a splendid ancient civilization. However, as the capital, Tehran developed nearly 200 years ago. Therefore, people call Tehran the new capital of an ancient country.

The word "Tehran" means "at the foot of the mountain" in ancient Persian. In the 9th century, it was a small village hidden in the buttonwood forest, and it flourished in13rd century, until 1788, when the Iranian king made it the capital. After the 1960s, due to the sharp increase of Iran's oil wealth, the city also achieved unprecedented development and became a large-scale and prosperous metropolis. At present, it is not only the largest city in Iran, but also the largest city in West Asia. It has a population of11million.

Tehran is more than 0/00 kilometers away from Caspian Sea/Kloc-,with the majestic Arbus Mountains in the middle. The whole city is built on the mountain, with high in the north and low in the south. Two wide and straight avenues run through the north, south and east of the city. There are many ancient buildings in the south, and many markets here still retain the characteristics of ancient Persia. The north city is a modern building, high-class hotels and shops, beautiful flowers and fountains, which make the whole city fresh and beautiful. Generally speaking, there are not many high-rise buildings, and people like bungalows with yards, which are quiet and comfortable.

As the capital of an ancient country, Tehran has many museums. The Freedom Monument has become the gateway to Tehran with its magnificent momentum and novel style. The new granite building, the summer palace of the former Pahlavi king, was changed to the People's Palace Museum after the dynasty was overthrown and opened to the public. The new world-famous Castle Carpet Museum has a collection of more than 5,000 Zhang Zhengui carpets from16th century to 20th century. Because the indoor temperature and humidity are kept at 20 degrees, the color of carpet samples is always bright and dazzling, and the oldest carpet has a history of 450 years. In Tehran, there are also the Museum of Cultural Heritage, Lalie Park and the largest fair (market) in the capital, all of which reflect the splendid Persian culture for thousands of years. The newly-built Khomeini Mausoleum is resplendent. As the capital of an Islamic country, Tehran has more than 1000 mosques. Every prayer time, the voices of the mosque echo each other and are solemn.
