What documents are needed to travel to Hong Kong and Macao?

Chinese citizens traveling to Hong Kong and Macao need to apply for a Hong Kong and Macao pass and endorsement. Only with the permit can they enter and exit Hong Kong and Macao customs.

Application for Hong Kong and Macau Pass: You need to fill in the application form at the entry-exit management office where your household registration is located with your ID card and household registration book. It usually takes 2 weeks to process.

There are two types of endorsements for the Hong Kong and Macau Pass:

1. G visa, which is an individual endorsement. This can be done in a group or on your own

2 , L visa, which is a group visa, this visa can only be used in a group and not for free travel

Currently, only most provincial capitals and municipalities have opened G visa authority, and most areas can only apply for L visa
