Wen Ting:
Wen Ting Pavilion is located on a mound on the west side of the auditorium. This is an ancient hexagonal pavilion. Wenting Pavilion was originally a bell pavilion, which existed at the beginning of the school term and was set up to order the whole school to work and rest. There is a big clock with a diameter of four feet in the pavilion. The bell rang all the way to Haidian. After the July 7th Incident, the Tsinghua campus fell into the hands of the Japanese aggressors, and the campus was destroyed, and the bell tower was destroyed. The clock in the museum and the bronze cannon under the museum were taken away by the Japanese aggressors, and their whereabouts are still unknown. Wen Yiduo is a famous poet and scholar in China, and also an alumnus and professor in our school.
During his stay in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, he witnessed the domestic anti-democratic dictatorship and was furious. 1946 was assassinated in Kunming. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the school resumed running in the north and rebuilt the bell tower. In memory of Mr Wen Yiduo who died in Kunming, Zhong Ting was named "Wen Ting". The plaque in the pavilion was built by Mr. Wen Yiduo's classmate, aged 192 1, and the word "Wen Pavilion" was inscribed by Professor Pan Guangdan, a famous eugenist. The big clock in the pavilion was originally hung opposite the East Gate of the Summer Palace and moved here after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War.
Tsinghua University, Shui Mu:
"Shui Mu Tsinghua" is the most charming scenic spot in Tsinghua campus, which is located on the north side of the I-shaped hall. Compared with the humor garden in the Summer Palace, it is often called "the garden in the garden" in Tsinghua campus. The landscape design of "Shui Mu Tsinghua" is very unique. The forest mountain with changing seasons is surrounded by a beautiful water, and two exquisite and elegant ancient pavilions are hidden among the mountains. The lotus pond in Tsinghua, Shui Mu is one of the two lakes and one river in the campus water system of Tsinghua (the lotus pond in Tsinghua, Shui Mu, the lotus pond in Jinchunyuan and Wanquan River).
In summer, the lotus is in full bloom, with a lush color; In winter, the snow falls on the surface of the pool, surrounded by Qiongzhi, and there is a unique scenery. This Gu Lou is beautiful and elegant, with weeping willows on the south side of Lianchi. It used to be the back building of I-shaped hall, the main corridor of "Tsinghua, Shui Mu" and the words "Tsinghua, Shui Mu". Beautiful, beautiful. The record is the imperial pen of Emperor Kangxi. The word "Tsinghua, Shui Mu" comes from Xie Hun's poem: "There are countless storms, white clouds are increasing, the scenery is full of birds, and Shui Mu is in Tsinghua. "
In the middle of Zhu Zhu, there is a famous couplet written by Jinshi Yin and three generations of assistant ministers during the light years of the Qing Dynasty: "The mountain light outside the threshold, all kinds of changes are extraordinary in spring, summer, autumn and winter, and the clouds in the window are the fairy house." On the west side of the lotus pond, you can see a waterfall, which runs continuously all the year round, and you can hear the sound of water far away, which is refreshing. Because of its elegant environment, Tsinghua, Shui Mu is often chosen by Tsinghua students as a place to study and take a nap.
