Comprehensive Guide to Four-Day Tour in Chongqing
I remember reading the novel "Red Rock" for the first time when I was a child, and I had an infinite yearning for that mountain city. But it was already 30 years later that I finally embarked on a journey to Chongqing.
As the plane hovered in the sky, we saw patches of red soil, and seemed to feel the moist air.
I arranged this trip to Chongqing for 4 days, which is roughly as follows:
D1: After checking in at the hotel, we will visit Hongyadong, Chaotianmen, Jiefangbei and other places in the city, mainly It's a city night view.
D2: Dazu Rock Carvings
D3: Geleshan Martyrs Cemetery, Ciqikou Ancient Town
D4: Chongqing Auditorium, Jialing River Cable Car and other urban tours
>The following points are for self-guided tour friends, I hope they will be helpful.
The Chongqing Airport bus terminal is at Shangqing Temple in the urban area, 15 yuan/person. It takes about 10 yuan to take a taxi from Shangqing Temple to Jiefangbei and other places. In fact, a taxi from the airport to the city only costs about 40 yuan, plus 10 yuan for expressway fees.
It is recommended to choose a prosperous area for accommodation, such as near Hongyadong and Jiefangbei, where transportation and dining are extremely convenient. It is not recommended to go near Chaotianmen, which is mainly a land/river transportation hub and is full of chaos.
Bus are very convenient for city tours. To save time, taking a taxi is also a good choice, usually about 6-30 yuan.
Dazu mainly visits the stone carvings of Baoding Mountain and Beishan. The package ticket is 120 yuan, half price for seniors over 60 years old. Tickets for Baoding Mountain are priced at 80 yuan and Beishan tickets are purchased separately for 50 yuan.
It is not recommended to join a one-day tour group. You can take a long-distance bus there by yourself, and the transportation is very convenient.
Chongqing Chenjiaping Long-distance Passenger Transport Station starts at 6:30 in the morning and leaves for Dazu every 30-40 minutes. The round-trip long-distance ticket is 96 yuan. A taxi from Jiefangbei to Chenjiaping costs about 22-25 yuan.
After arriving at Dazu Long-distance Bus Station, it costs 30 yuan to take a taxi to Baodingshan and 5-10 yuan to Beishan. Although there is bus transportation to the long-distance station connecting various scenic spots, the stops/times are very confusing, so I didn't look for it.
If you are short on time, it is recommended to just go to Baoding Mountain.
The Dazu Rock Carvings are still worth a visit, but it is best to get more tour guides there, because most of the cultural attractions are divided into 30% to see and 70% to listen to.
The Geleshan Martyrs Cemetery is in Shapingba, which is like an urban area under construction, a bit far away. Bus 215/265 gets off at the Martyrs’ Tomb.
A large red rock soul square was built in front of the Martyrs Cemetery. It is solemn and solemn, and the sculptures in the cemetery are very impressive.
The admission fee is 40 yuan, and it will be free after March 26. However, in order to control the number of people, the tickets are limited every day.
It is about 3km from the cemetery gate to Zhazi Cave. Baigongguan/Songlinpo is basically in the middle, about 1km from the gate. There are buses connecting the scenic areas, which are free with tickets. But it is very inconvenient for friends who want to visit carefully.
So it is recommended to take the bus (it seems to be No. 210) at the gate of the scenic spot and go directly to Zhazi Cave. After the tour, find the scenic spot bus and go to Bai Mansion. After the tour, walk to the gate by yourself.
In fact, there are many tourist attractions along the road. Statues of martyrs can be seen everywhere. If you walk all the way downhill from Zhazi Cave to the gate of the scenic spot, it is still acceptable.
Visiting the Geleshan Martyrs Cemetery is actually quite tiring, because most of the exhibitions use text and physical objects, so you have to walk. In addition, you have to climb about 300 steps to go to scenic spots such as Songlin Slope. Everyone be mentally prepared.
Today we are far away from that bloody era. Most young people born in the 1980s may not have read Hongyan. At most, they know about Sister Jiang, Xu Yunfeng, Little Luobotou and others.
But I feel that no matter how society develops and progresses, the spirit of persistent pursuit of faith will never be erased in any era.
After visiting the Martyrs Cemetery, take a taxi to Ciqikou Ancient Town for 5 yuan. In fact, it only takes 1km to walk, mainly because the visit took a lot of energy and I couldn’t walk anymore:)
Ciqikou Ancient Town is the same as all the ancient towns around Shanghai, but it is located in a mountain city with few buildings. It has a little Jiangnan flavor and looks well-organized.
The street hawkers are all similar, but there are many teahouses, most of which have live music. It usually costs about 10 yuan to order a piece of music. This scene echoes the ancient town and has a unique charm.
Finally, let’s introduce the scenic spots in Chongqing.
Chaotianmen, Jiefangbei, and Hongyadong are recommended to go when night falls, as they are night sightseeing spots. If you have time, go there during the day. If there is fog, it will best reflect the true nature of Chongqing.
Hongyadong faces the Jialing River and is mainly a tourist place integrating catering, entertainment and shopping. The Chongqing restaurant there: Little Swan is very famous, tastes authentic and is not expensive. You can try it if you have the chance.
There are two river-crossing cable cars: the Jialing River Cable Car and the Yangtze River Cable Car. It is best to choose the Yangtze River Cable Car, mainly because the Yangtze River is more impressive than the Jiangling River. The cable car in "Crazy Stone" should be the Yangtze River Cable Car.
The Great Hall of the People is very close to Shangqing Temple. It used to be the center where people gathered in Chongqing. Now, maybe in addition to meetings, people often go to the Jiefangbei for fun.
The auditorium is a majestic building, resembling the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. In the 1950s and 1960s, it was quite remarkable to build such a building.
From this point of view, Chongqing, which was not a municipality directly under the Central Government at that time, still had sufficient financial resources~~
Opposite the auditorium is the Three Gorges Museum, which is closed on Mondays, so we were unable to do so.
There are still many places that I have no time to arrange during this trip to Chongqing. I will visit this mountain city again when I have the opportunity next time! And take a river cruise through the Three Gorges to Yichang.
