In Guangdong, Zhanjiang is a relatively alternative city

As a Zhanjiang native, writing about Zhanjiang will inevitably bring too much personal color. I feel that whether it is praise or anything else, it will not be so objective.

In this article, I want to try to be as objective as possible and put myself out there.

Looking at the whole of Guangdong, to be honest, the scenery of Zhanjiang really doesn’t have many features. There are three relatively unusual places in Zhanjiang. The first alternative, with many attractions but no appeal

The more famous one in Zhanjiang is Huguang Rock! Of course, there are many people in Zhanjiang who think this is not the most fun place. Because I always feel that the viewing value there is very average, and the geological research may be more valuable! A small lake, namely Mayi Lake, and a very ordinary small mountain, Shizi Ridge. A very ordinary garden layout, from the perspective of ornamental value, it is really not worth the 50 yuan ticket price! However, this lake is indeed beautiful. It is definitely not comparable to many artificial lakes nowadays. It is clear and free of debris, and it is embedded in it like agate. There are also various legends, which cast a mysterious color. Generally speaking, the scenery inside is a bit monotonous, which makes people feel unsatisfied after playing there.

It feels like Huguangyan has collected tickets for so many years, and the large area behind the park is still in a state of neglect. It is a pity that it is not fully developed. If there were no tour guide here, tourists from out of town or locals coming here for the first time might not understand the origin of Huguangyan Lake! Not to mention the character of the lake.

I think Huguangyan can use effective resources to build a volcano-themed museum to introduce Mayi Lake. In view of the low popularity, wouldn't it be the best of both worlds to develop entertainment venues, lower tickets, attract popularity, bring economic benefits, and attract more people to visit?

Of course Zhanjiang is not only Huguangyan, but also Naozhou Island, the largest volcanic island in the country. Wherever you go, you can see lighthouses, watch local people rushing to the sea, see volcanic rocks, have unobstructed views of the coastline, and eat local specialty seafood. But it seems that tourism is not very popular, and there are not many outsiders.

In addition, there are many scenic spots, such as Tianchentai Resort and Tourism Area in Wushi Town, Xuwen's Antarctic Village, Pineapple Sea, Dinglong Bay, and other Leizhou West Lake, Sanyuan Pagoda and so on. , you can introduce them separately when you have time, so I won’t go into details here.

There is a thunder song in Zhanjiang, and one sentence goes like this: "Leizhou Peninsula is a good place, with beautiful water and green mountains." In fact, when it comes to beautiful water, it’s barely enough, but forget it about green mountains! There are no real mountains in Zhanjiang. Zhanjiang is well-known as a coastal city. In recent years, Zhanjiang has also been taking the route of becoming a livable city by the seaside. In terms of infrastructure construction, it is still possible to create an ecological and livable urban environment and attract investment. Therefore, many real estate developers have flocked to Zhanjiang, driving up the housing prices in Zhanjiang! The livability is in place, but the tourist attributes of fun are still not there. Zhanjiang's tourism resources are very scattered, have little appeal, management is not in place, and resources are not integrated, so it is really not ideal. Dinglong Bay is probably the one that can be described as working in this area! Before development, this place was just a deserted beach, which was daunting. However, due to development and construction in recent years, Zhanjiang has become a relatively popular tourist attraction. I hope that Zhanjiang will be even better in the future with Dinglong Bay as a successful model!

The second largest alternative in Zhanjiang. It’s famous for its seafood, but it’s so expensive that most people can’t afford it! Only eat it when entertaining guests during the holidays!

In Zhanjiang, eating fresh seafood is not a luxury. Even in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, if you want to eat fresh seafood, it is really difficult! Many seafood in big cities are transported in the cold chain, so the taste will not be so fresh.

Why do Zhanjiang people like fresh food so much? Fresh food is probably because it tastes better and has higher nutritional value. Although transportation is now developed and seafood can be eaten everywhere, live butchered and freshly prepared seafood is very rare, so many people come here here for this reason.

Zhanjiang’s diet is more nutritious! Various specialties such as boiled duck, boiled chicken, and boiled dog are all boiled in water. Many people, especially friends from the north, may not like this kind of blandness, but Zhanjiang people enjoy eating it. Especially plain-cut chicken, it is a must-have when entertaining guests during New Years and holidays. White-cut chicken dipped in soy sauce and served with minced garlic, you can eat it with your mouth shut. It is simply a rare delicacy. Ordinary people can eat chicken in their daily lives, with some peanuts and white wine, and a few home-cooked side dishes, which is the best taste in the world. If a child is anorexic and doesn't even want to eat chicken, the parent will immediately scold him! Even if you don’t eat chicken, do you want to eat abalone and lobster?

In Zhanjiang, if there is no chicken on the dining table, it is absolutely incomplete.

In Zhanjiang, ordinary chicken and fish are the standard, while prawns and crabs are the best. After all, they are expensive, and it is not a major festival or when receiving distinguished guests, so it is not easy to buy them all. From the perspective of outsiders, Zhanjiang people often have big fish and big shrimps, which is also a false proposition. But it is indeed a good thing, and it is rare to be able to eat such delicious food at the same time. Shrimp and crab are rich in protein and have high nutritional value. If you come to Zhanjiang and someone is willing to treat you with prawns and crabs, just cherish it, it is worth a close friendship!

Zhanjiang people’s diet is actually a branch of Guangfu’s diet. They all respect lightness and like to drink soup when eating.

I won’t go into details here.

When talking about food, someone may also ask, what are the special snacks in Zhanjiang? Just say it briefly. Dustpan cooking and leaf cakes are relatively common! However, these things were rarely eaten in the past. During the Chinese New Year, most people would make leaf pancakes. Dustpan cooking is something that is eaten, but in the past we were poor and could not eat it often. Now I may think it is delicious, sweet and refreshing, but now there is almost no trace of it in stores. You can still see it often in some corner stalls. I don’t think so. Understand, the taste of dustpan cooking is no worse than rice rolls and the like. What is the reason why you can't go to a shop and can only be reduced to a small vendor? In addition, for us Zhanjiang people, especially those born in the 1980s and 1990s, what we may miss the most is Yao sweet potato or Yao chicken.

Zhanjiang is the third most alternative place. It has a superior geographical environment and a prefecture-level city with the longest coastline, but its development level does not match. I remember when Zhanjiang was at its peak, it was the second largest city in Guangdong. Guangzhou Bay was once the only external port with free trade, and its economy was prosperous. Now it is one of the top ten ancient ports in Chikan, and the arcades along the street can leave traces.

But now, under the long-term policy of two rivers and one animal husbandry, Zhanjiang has missed good opportunities for discovery. At present, Zhanjiang has become a relatively backward city in Guangdong, and its economic ranking is rather embarrassing. The relatively large population and superior urban infrastructure environment really do not match the current situation of Zhanjiang. Many people think that Zhanjiang will get better in the future. It is not a dream to return to its peak moment! Some people think that Zhanjiang is just like that. Except for a few chemical plants and steel plants, housing prices are high and prices are high. It only has good conditions and lacks perfect industries. People are relatively comfortable, so that's it.

In fact, I am optimistic about Zhanjiang in the next ten years, but as a Zhanjiang person, seeing the current state of the city, I really just feel that it is very average.

I don’t know what you think?
