Brief introduction of Wuhu Golden Pagoda in Anhui Province
According to the Records of Wuwei Prefecture in Qing Dynasty, "There is an ancient pagoda in Taishui South of Taiping Township. In the first year of Song Xianping (AD 998), monks boarded the public building, but in the Ming Dynasty, monks just wanted to lift it up and repair it. "
In the early Northern Song Dynasty, Buddhism flourished in Wuwei County, with many monks. So a temple called Nantai Temple was built beside Taihu Lake (now Xihe River). Later, a pagoda, the Golden Pagoda, was built in the temple, forming a large-scale Buddhist complex. With the changes of the times and the destruction of war, Nanmu Temple and Jinta also experienced turbulence, from prosperity to decline, leaving only one ancient pagoda. Since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it has been repaired in Hongwu, Qin Long, Wanli, Kangxi and Qianlong years, which has enabled the ancient pagoda to continue. Today, the Golden Pagoda is the oldest ancient pagoda in our province.
The Golden Pagoda is a typical hexagonal brick pagoda with nine floors, 3.4 meters wide and about 35 meters high. Its structural modeling is dignified, steady and solemn, which is the perfect combination of Indian pagoda art and ancient buildings in China, and is of great value to the study of ancient Buddhist architecture in China.
Most ancient pagodas in China are named after temples, or named after shapes, ages, textures, place names and locations, but the name of Wuwei Golden Pagoda is unique. According to the Records of Wuwei County, Volume 4, Historical Relics, "Huang Jincheng ruled the North for fifteen miles, and now Nantai Temple to Jijiazha are all its relics. There are towers in the temple, doors beside the temple and temples in front of it, all named after gold. The origin of its city cannot be verified. "
Near the location of the ancient pagoda, there are historical places such as Jinmen, Jindian and Huang Jincheng. There is a local saying that "the phoenix drives the unicorn", which is why the Golden Pagoda is named after "Jin".
198 1 year, Jinta was listed as a provincial key cultural relics protection unit, and the tower was comprehensively surveyed and repaired. Now the Golden Pagoda has taken on a new look, becoming an important cultural relic and tourist landscape. In 20 13, the State Council published the seventh batch of national key protected cultural relics list, and Wuwei Jinta was listed among them, becoming a national key cultural relics protection unit.
Today, this golden pagoda stands on the banks of the Xihe River. At night, the towers are brightly lit, and the golden pagodas are like treasures, emitting attractive infinite charm. At this moment, the Golden Pagoda is worthy of the name.
The ancient pagoda is as majestic as an old man with white hair. Standing under the tower, the mottled traces of the tower came into view. Looking up, the top of the tower seems to go straight into the sky, feeling the vicissitudes of time.
