I traveled to 10 prefecture-level cities and 24 counties in Anhui in one year. The scenery in southern Anhui is good, and the food in northern Anhui is better.

First of all, let me introduce myself. I am an Anhui travel blogger currently living in Changzhou, Jiangsu. In the past year, due to the epidemic, some of my daily travel and lifestyle changes have been made. For example, there should be several overseas trips every year, but none in 2020. But I don’t feel lost at all. I can arrive at a distant place later. Being able to calm down and look at the scenery around me throughout the year is also a gain.

Looking through the folders on the hard drive, in the past 12 months, in my hometown of Anhui, I have actually visited 10 prefecture-level cities and 24 counties and districts. Of course, this does not include the places I passed by. . Looking back, the names of every city are so vivid. These 10 prefecture-level cities are distributed in various directions in Anhui. In this article, I will share with you my summary and insights! To put it generally: Southern Anhui has good scenery, and Northern Anhui has better food! As for central Anhui and the more detailed western and eastern Anhui, I will combine them together. This is because the "personalities" of southern Anhui and northern Anhui are more distinct.

In Anhui, if you want to see the scenery, there is no doubt that you have to come to Wannan. As the saying goes, "I will never dream of visiting Huizhou." The scenery of Huangshan City is definitely unique in Anhui, and it is not bad even if you look at it across the country. Therefore, I won’t go into details about places like Huangshan Scenic Area and Xidi Hongcun. No matter what season you choose or when you come, there are great things to see. Let me post some actual photos I took of Hongcun and Huangshan Scenic Areas.

What I would like to recommend to everyone here is that the scenery in western Anhui and eastern Anhui is not bad. The first to bear the brunt is the Dabie Mountains area in Lu'an in western Anhui. Both are mountainous areas, and the differences between the Dabie Mountains and Huangshan are quite large. The scenery in Huangshan Mountain is relatively concentrated, while the scenery in the Dabie Mountains is more scattered and original. For example, in autumn, Mazhao Ridge in Jinzhai County and Dabie Mountain Scenic Road in Huoshan County are paradises for self-driving travel enthusiasts. Along the way, you can make blockbusters by casually taking pictures, which will make your circle of friends popular.

Generally speaking, Anhui's tourism development is relatively "scientific". The Huizhou area in southern Anhui is very mature, and the scenic spots have good reputations. So if you are traveling to Anhui for the first time or If it is a parent-child tour or family tour that requires perfect conditions, it is definitely not wrong to come to Wannan. For tourists who like niche, exploratory and self-driving tours, if they are already very familiar with southern Anhui, it is recommended to go to the Dabie Mountains in western Anhui and relatively niche places such as Xuancheng Langxi and Guangde in eastern Anhui.

Let’s talk about it. The scenic spots in northern Anhui are not only immature in development, but there are really not many interesting things to see. Traveling around is okay, but I really don’t recommend it if you go far. There is still a long way to go for tourism development. Way to go.

If you are a tourist who likes food, then I recommend you to come to Wanbei. There must be many friends saying that there seem to be more famous delicacies in southern Anhui? Yes, Huangshan even has famous dishes such as stinky mandarin fish and hairy tofu that have been featured on the "Bite of the Tongue" program. However, as far as I know, the dishes in southern Anhui, including the hanging pot in the Dabie Mountains, are all heavy in oil and salt. Friends from other provinces are fine with one or two meals, but generally they are not used to it if they have to eat it for two or three days. Some "weird" delicacies like hairy tofu and stinky mandarin fish are even difficult for many friends from other provinces to try, and they are unwilling to try one bite.

Hefei, the provincial capital in northern Anhui and central Anhui, also has a lot of delicious food. The food in these places is well integrated and the taste is more easily accepted by the public. For example, in places like Fuyang and Suzhou in northern Anhui, many of the delicacies are more similar to Shandong Shandong cuisine further north. There are also some fusions between Chuzhou and Ma'anshan in eastern Anhui and Huaiyang cuisine in Jiangsu. The ingredients and portions of Anhui cuisine in these places are very substantial. Just because the scenery is not that good, the characteristics are not too distinctive, and there are not many tourists here, so the food is not famous, but it is really delicious.

If I am forced to give examples, I will give two. Far back in the green train era before high-speed rail, there was a Fuliji roast chicken in Suzhou, Anhui, which was sold all over the country along with the train. Many people of the older generation will still remember this name when they hear it. Now, in my hometown of Huainan, the beef soup that everyone loves to drink is also blooming all over the country. It is likely to "compete" with Lanzhou Ramen and Shaxian snacks. I honestly say that authentic beef soup is really worth coming every morning. Serve a bowl.

Anhui is a province rich in tourism resources and a place worth visiting again and again. The cost of traveling here is not high, and there are few cases of cheating and cheating.
