New Zealand has a low success rate in applying for an Australian visa
I will tell you that the success rate of applying for an Australian visa in New Zealand is low. I hope it will be helpful to students studying abroad. If you want to know more about studying abroad, I will give you detailed answers. I heard that the rejection rate for applying for an Australian visa in New Zealand is very high, but it is easier to apply at home. Although I thought the application materials I submitted were quite sufficient, I still felt intimidated. I finally got the visa, and I was relieved. I got a one-month single-entry tourist visa. Let’s talk about my application process:
First, let me explain that the type of visa I applied for is TouristVisa (Suclass 676). There are many types of tourist visas, but for Chinese nationals and my situation, Suclass is applicable. 676 visa.
The application materials I submitted:
1. Original passport
2. Original old passport (not required, but I think the old passport can be shown to them I have been to many countries and have never stayed illegally)
3. Copy of passport page and New Zealand visa
4. One passport-size photo taken within 6 months. Taking photos in New Zealand is extremely expensive, costing NZD25, which is RMB125! Is it exaggerated? I struggled and took the risk to use photos that were brought from China that were more than 6 months old. I heard that you can take it at AA for NZD15. But don’t try it, because when I went there, they only used a point-and-shoot camera to take the photo with my hands. The pixels in the photo were very low, my head was crooked, and they didn’t remind me that I had not taken off my earrings. I was not satisfied after taking the photo twice, so I asked them to refund the money. I heard that taking photos at Pharmacy is cheaper, but I don’t know about the quality.
5. Proof of funds. The proof of funds I submitted includes New Zealand bank deposit certificate and IRD tax record. There are also copies of domestic credit cards. New Zealand's certificate of deposit does not require freezing of deposits like in China. You only need to go to the bank counter and ask them to print a Bank Statement. The more proof of deposit the better, but a printed BankStatement will show that you have money deposited. So if you need to save money, it’s best to spread it out.
6. Form 48R
7. Itinerary plan. I roughly wrote down my daily itinerary and summarized the approximate cost. If the funds are not large, in my opinion, it is best not to write that you have gone to too many places in the itinerary, otherwise the immigration office will think that you need more proof of funds. The Immigration Bureau will approve the number of days of the visa based on your itinerary. If you want to stay for more than a month, don't shorten your itinerary plan.
8. An invitation letter from an Australian friend and a photo of me and my friend. In the invitation letter, my friend mentioned that he would cover my room and board, so I didn’t need much proof of funds.
9. Material list checklist
Payment:
***NZD 183
There are several payment methods. If you are in Auckland and prefer to submit in person, you can pay cash or pay by card at the TTS office.
If it is mailed, you can make a bank transfer and the payee is TT Services New Zealand Ltd. Send the bank statement together, or fill in the credit card information in the 48R form, and the money will be automatically deducted when the time comes. .
Visa submission process:
There is no need to interview or submit in person, just prepare the documents and then mail them. When mailing, you need to buy two bags, one to send and one to receive. Just buy the passport-sized one, because the big one is much more expensive than the small one. After the visa is issued, they will take away all your other non-original documents. Basically, you will only receive the passport and visa letter.
