What are the reasons and benefits of free admission to scenic spots?
During the epidemic, the tourism industry suffered extremely heavy losses. During the epidemic, many scenic spots closed directly and their income was zero. When the epidemic gradually dissipated, the tourism industry gradually returned to normal.
However, many scenic spots have recently launched great preferential activities, and discounts and free tickets are commonplace.
Take Yuntai Mountain in Jiaozuo as an example. The former scenic spots were free for all Henan people. Just after the event, Yuntai Mountain started a new round of free admission activities. This time, however, the beneficiary groups have become teachers and students all over the country.
So, is the scenic spot doing this out of kindness? Obviously not. Of course, I have to admit that for medical staff, free care is absolute.
Then, the scenic spots are free of tickets. What are they doing?
In fact, there are various reasons for scenic spots to do so.
1. Small profits but quick turnover
Although the tourism industry is open now, it does not mean that it has fully recovered.
Nowadays, people travel more carefully than before, so there are fewer tourists. In addition, the scenic spot itself should have epidemic prevention measures, such as limiting the total number of tourists and suspending indoor projects, which will also affect the income of the scenic spot.
Free admission does not mean that the scenic spot is completely free. Tickets-free scenic spots generally charge small transportation fees, insurance fees, parking fees, sanitation fees and other fees. If the number of tourists soars, the benefits of these charges will be considerable.
In fact, once large-scale preferential activities are launched in scenic spots, the number of tourists will generally increase significantly. Taking Yuntai Mountain Scenic Area as an example, we lit up the previous domestic preferential activities and found that many areas in the scenic area were overcrowded.
In addition, the internal consumption items in the scenic spot are generally not free at the same time, such as glass plank roads, glass bridges, slideways and ropeways. These benefits will be amazing when the number of tourists increases greatly.
And with tourists, the shops and hotels in the scenic spot will be booming. These businesses are closely related to the interests of the scenic spot itself.
2. Financial coercion
At present, the financial situation of many scenic spots is very bad.
Some scenic spots are developed by borrowing money, and the debt ratio is very high. Usually, this is not a big problem when the ticket revenue is unchanged. However, under the influence of the epidemic in the first half of the year, the income of many scenic spots plummeted or even cut off, and the funding problem immediately became prominent.
A while ago, Yesanpo, a scenic spot in AAAAA, Hebei Province, went bankrupt and reorganized, which shocked many people in the industry. Earlier, the epidemic also swept through the Yangtze River Basin, an AAAA-level scenic spot in Henan Province.
Now that the tourism industry has reopened, the number of tourists is still very small. How to win as many tourists as possible, get emergency funds and get out of the predicament as soon as possible is a top priority for some scenic spots. Perhaps the big discount is harmful to the long-term interests of the scenic spot, but it is definitely the most effective means to win a large number of tourists in a short time.
3. Comprehensive consideration
Of course, in scenic spots with large discounts, there are also wise ways to sacrifice their own small interests in exchange for the big interests of the region.
You know, most scenic spots are not private enterprises, but run by local governments. The local government can allow scenic spots to take preferential measures to promote the development of local transportation, catering, hotels, retail and other industries.
This is very wise, not only welcomed by tourists, but also in line with the long-term interests of a place.
For many tourists, the high ticket price is the biggest slot in domestic scenic spots. No matter how good the scenic spots are, tourists often only go once, but they are unwilling to go for the second time. What can make tourists spend again and again must be a scenic spot with low tickets or even free tickets.
Take Hangzhou West Lake as an example. This is a completely free AAAAA scenic spot. This is very rare in the national tourist attractions. Because it is free, the West Lake may lose hundreds of millions of yuan a year because of the tickets that can be easily obtained. However, according to experts' estimation, if tourists can stay in Hangzhou for 24 hours for free, then the whole of Hangzhou will get 654.38+000 billion in revenue every year due to the development of hotels, restaurants and other related industries!
This estimate may not be accurate, but free can make Hangzhou earn more. This should be uncontroversial, right?
Therefore, in order to stimulate the local economy, some local governments will discount the scenic spots within their jurisdiction.
