Jiayuguan Dunhuang Journey Essay 800 Words - Travel Notes for Sixth Grade Primary School

Whether you are in school or entering society, everyone has tried to write a composition. Composition is a narrative method that expresses the meaning of a theme through words. Still at a loss for composition? The following is an 800-word essay on a trip to Jiayuguan and Dunhuang that I carefully compiled - a travel diary for sixth grade primary school students. I hope it will be helpful to everyone.

This summer vacation I followed the Silk Road study tour group to the northwest, passing through the Hexi Corridor. Among them, my favorite cities are Jiayuguan and Dunhuang.

Jiayuguan City is named after Jiayuguan. Jiayuguan has been known as the most majestic pass in the world since ancient times. Jiayuguan is located in the middle of the narrowest valley. Outside the city wall is the Gobi desert. The terrain is dangerous. It has been used to resist the invasion of the Huns since the fifth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty. It is very majestic. We took the bus there early that morning. When we got off the bus, there was a sudden wind and sand, and we couldn't see our fingers. Fortunately, we brought anti-sand equipment, scarves and hats in advance, otherwise the sand would get into our eyes and clothes. The wind stopped soon after, and everyone continued to walk towards the gate of Jiayu. As soon as I entered the scenic spot, I saw the plaque of "Tianxia Xiongguan" hanging on the high tower. The city wall was made of a mixture of loess, local vegetation and glutinous rice. It was very strong and stood on the Gobi Desert for more than 600 years. Continuing forward, we entered the inner city of Jiayuguan. The inner city wall is very tall, 10.3 meters high. The inner city as a whole is trapezoidal. With this design, it is easier for people inside to defend, but it is difficult for people outside to attack. In the inner city there are places such as a martial arts stage, a training ground and the guerrilla general's mansion. My mother saw that I was very interested in the history and culture of Jiayuguan. She passed by the postal newsstand and knew that I was interested in stamps, so she gave me a set of stamps about the Great Wall. I was very happy. Climbing up the Jiayuguan City Wall, you can have an unobstructed view of the scenery outside the pass. As I blew the breeze outside the Great Wall, I couldn't help but think of how the soldiers resisted the Huns back then...

In addition to Jiayuguan, I also like Dunhuang. Dunhuang is most famous for its Mogao Grottoes, followed by Yadan National Geopark in Dunhuang, Gansu. I prefer Yadan National Geopark, also known as Yadan Devil City. Yadan National Geological Park may have been a lake or a vast sea a long time ago, but over time, it has become different due to the erosion of rain and wind.

We took a bus to Dunhuang Yadan National Geopark. There are many strange stone pillars in the park. Some are like an arrogant lion, some are like a graceful peacock, and some are like soaring eagles. What I like most is the West Sea Fleet. They are riding the wind and waves, majestic and overwhelming, and are sailing towards me. It was sunset in the west at this time, and the fiery red sunset reflected the entire West Sea Fleet, and also projected the glorious shadow of the West Sea Fleet on the Gobi Desert, which shocked me deeply!

After visiting the West Sea Fleet, it was already 9 o'clock in the evening. At this time, the local sun was setting. So, we impromptuly wanted to take a photo with the beautiful sunset in Dunhuang. Click, click, the sun just set after we took the photo. Our interesting trip to the Hexi Corridor also came to an end with the beautiful sunset.

During this interesting trip to the Hexi Corridor, I made new friends and gained a lot of historical knowledge and national culture.

This interesting trip was really rewarding!
