Sailimu is Kazakh language, meaning wish, also commonly known as Santai Haizi. The lake is located about 90 kilometers southwest of Bole City, with an altitude of 2073 meters. The lake is slightly oval, 20 kilometers long from east to west, 30 kilometers wide from north to south, with an area of 454 square kilometers and the deepest point of 86 meters.

It is said that 70 million years ago, the crust of Eurasia shook, the mountains and seas changed dramatically, and the Tianshan Mountains rose from the ground, creating the highest altitude and largest alpine lake in Xinjiang. Selimu Lake means lake on the ridge in Mongolian. Facing the cool mountain breeze, listening to the birds singing in the mountains and watching the swans skimming over the water, you can't help feeling the wonder of nature. No wonder Sailimu Lake is called the clean sea of the west. Blue lagoon is a green grassland. By the lake, it's like being in a dreamy fairy tale world.

The quiet and peaceful atmosphere of Selimu Lake strongly shocked me. Living in a bustling world every day, I have never seen such a paradise in the hustle and bustle. Looking into the distance, the distant peaks are looming in the misty white clouds, as if they were added with a brush; Not far away, green grass, dotted with wild flowers, like a colorful green blanket, soft and rich. White yurts are scattered around the lake, which is a mystery. There are few shepherds nearby, only groups of horses and sheep are walking and grazing leisurely. On the wide lake, it's calm, and there are no ships far and near. It's as quiet as a baby sleeping. Several small islands in the lake are lonely and beautiful, as if telling the unusual story of Selimu Lake.

Legend has it that a long time ago, Selimu Lake was not a lake, but a grassland full of beautiful water plants and flowers. On this beautiful grassland, Cheda, a beautiful and moving shepherd girl, and Stoke, a handsome and brave young horse herder, sincerely love each other. One day, Miss Cheddar released birds and flowers on the grassland, singing and dancing with the sheep. Unfortunately, she met the grassland demon king who was out hunting. The Lich King took a fancy to the beautiful young girl Che da ji and wanted to snatch her into the palace to be his concubine. A girl who can be loyal to love and yearn for freedom will die if she is not moved by the splendor of the palace. She rode away, followed by guards, and was about to be caught. In despair, she suddenly found a bottomless deep pool nearby, so she jumped in. Stoke, who heard the news, killed the guard and plunged into the deep pool. The pool suddenly churned and roared, and the black waves were sky-high. Huge waves engulfed the grassland demon king and the palace. The vast grassland has since become Wang Yang. The lovers who died with hatred became two inseparable islands, which still stand on the endless Ranbo.

What a touching love story. The touching legend has put a mysterious color on Sailimu Lake. Looking at the small island on the blue lagoon from a distance, it is even more amazing and beautiful. It is gratifying that this lake, once a symbol of misfortune, has now become a happy paradise for herders.

Unfortunately, I have to spend the night at Gones Ranch, but I can't stay at Selimu Lake. It is said that Selim Lake means peace and blessing in Turkish.
