Tourism situation in suzdal

Suzdal Kremlin (Russian: суздалскийкремл)

Suzdal Kremlin can be said to be the origin of suzdal's development. It is part of the old city and the center of suzdal. Archaeologically, it existed in the tenth century and was recorded in 1024 in the chronicle.

The Kremlin is located next to the meandering river (Russian: каменка), in the south of the city, with the Cathedral of Notre Dame, the bell tower and the archbishop's palace. There are also three halls in the Archbishop's Palace: the conference hall, the suzdal History Museum and the Russian painting exhibition hall.

Spassu-Evfimi Monastery

Located in the north of the city, Spassu-Effimi Monastery is the largest monastery in suzdal. The monastery looks like a bunker, and its interior is gorgeous and rich, reaching its peak in 16- 17 century.

Museum of Wood Structure Architecture and Farmers' Life

The wooden buildings displayed in the museum include churches, farmers' houses, corrals, barns, wells and windmills. Most of them were built in18th century, and moved here from various villages in Vladimir after 1960. These wooden buildings not only reproduce the rural life in Russia before18th century, but also make people compare the traces of architectural forms evolving with history.

Pocroff convent

This monastery, built in 1364, is now beautifully decorated, with a harmonious courtyard and buildings. There is even a hotel in the monastery.

Holy robe monastery

The establishment of Sanpao Temple can be traced back to the beginning of13rd century, but most of the buildings preserved now are16-19th century. The 72-meter-high yellow and white bell tower of the monastery is the tallest building in suzdal.
